THE LOST GUARD

Hector was really fuming mad while looking at Sandra that time. Sandra, however, just struck a smile on her face as she spat in front of Hector. Visually, what she spat was her saliva combined with Hector’s blood. Since the hallway was really wide, Hector just did not mind Denton and his team, he passed by them instead. Jannah, who was able to hear Sandra’s screams also entered the scenario at the same exact moment Denton ran to save Sandra who was having a dilemma. “Are you okay?” Denton asked Sandra who was still spitting. “Come on, let us go to the girls comfort room for you to wash your mouth. I do not know happened but your mouth is bleeding, so wash it first before explaining us what really happened.”

Denton, Paul and Jannah, all walked Sandra towards the girls comfort room. Jannah was the only one who entered the comfort room with Sandra, since she is the only female inside the team, together with Sandra. “Why is your mouth bleeding? Did he punch you?” asked Paul who was also concerned as to what happened to Sandra. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Let us go to the infirmary after.”

Sandra, who was gargling water inside her mouth, never responded and waited for the time her mouth is already clean before she talked and walked outside. “That was not my blood,” Sandra muttered as she and Jannah walked out of the comfort room. Shock was really visible in Paul and Denton’s face. “Just so you know, that was Hector’s blood and not mine. And yeah, I was not hurt, so no need to bring me to the infirmary. If you have things to do to the infirmary, then, feel free to use this as a reason to go there.”

Paul shook his head. “We just finished exploring the hole, guys. We do not need to explore that more. We have had enough things that we knew,” Paul replied. Paul looked at Sandra who initiated the walk back to the arena. “Well, whatever we knew from the hole back in the infirmary, let us talk about it after talking about what really happened. What really happened? How did Hector’s blood get inside your mouth? Can you explain to us? Denton and I are really confused as to what is happening right now.”

Jannah initiated the explanation. “Okay, so I will start with what happened inside the arena after the two of you left. Hector suddenly approached the two of us and asked Sandra whether she wanted to be on her team or not. Sandra looked at me like she was telling to just let her go with Hector to the men’s comfort room. I knew from the fact that she has plans but I was worried as well, however, I cannot bring myself to call Paul and Denton from the infirmary, just so you can help Sandra from him.”

“Jannah was right when she told you that I have plan, I really do. Hector brought me to the men’s comfort room when he suddenly started on unzipping his jeans and yeah, he showed me that one thing you have in your mind. He told me to suck that s**t, so I placed it inside my mouth, started on pushing it in and out of my mouth,” Sandra explained. Paul and Denton’s eyes gaped open after hearing what Sandra told them. “However, I did not do that because I wanted to make out with him. I wanted to make him feel pain. So, upon hearing the familiar steps of the two of you passing by the comfort room, I bit his thing and made him feel the pain. And yeah, that is why you saw him running after me. He probably wants to kill me already, and I am not afraid. As long as I did it successfully, I can die peacefully.”

“Good thing, you washed your mouth. Blood can carry bacteria too, so yeah. Plus, it comes from his ‘you-know-the-thing’, so it might really is dirty,” Paul replied. “However, I was not suggesting you to do that, if we were there inside the arena. You are putting your life at risk. You know how big and strong Hector is, right? You also know his influence inside this game. He may not be known to have the favor of game head, but he can pull the favor of the other players towards him. He might as well create anger to you, the way he feels for Denton, and you know, it is deadly.”

“I agree with Paul. You should have not done it, it is really risky. Plus, if you mistaken us for somebody else, who would be there to help you?” Denton replied. Sandra was just looking straight at the way they are walking to. “Sandra, I know you have anger towards him for having hate to me and my team, you three. However, revenge is not the greatest way. You will just make him develop his anger towards us. I am not saying that this is your mistake, it is clearly his wrong, but yeah, we might be affected by this. We will be here to support and protect you. Let us, Paul and I, do our jobs as the body of this team.”

“You clearly forgot that you assigned Paul and I as the body of the team. You and Jannah are the minds,” Sandra replied. Denton showed a poker face after hearing that come out from Sandra’s mouth. “But that is not the point, Denton. I wanted to help but what I did was just making the things worse than what it was before. I might be greedy and not thinking well, but yeah... I have no regrets of doing that. If it affects you, I will say sorry. You are free to kick me out of the group, though.”

“I agree with what Paul and Denton told you, Sandra but I think you also have a point,” Jannah muttered. “Deny it or not, but that is also a help. That caused him pain. That will surely affect his performance tomorrow in the game. That is a critical area, and that will hurt him as hell, not just physically but mentally. That is the thing most men are proud of and seeing Sandra put a pain on that must have hurt his pride.” Jannah looked at the three of them. “Hurting his pride might make him more angry at us, but let him. That is what he does the best, getting angry. Why deprive him of doing what he does the best.”

“We should just go to the arena before Hector comes up again. Sandra, stay near with us all the time. Who knows that jerk might try to attack you while you are away from us,” Denton muttered. Sandra nodded on what Denton has told her. The four of them started on walking towards the arena where there is Hector, sitting on his bed, still worried about his member which was bleeding. Nearly later, one guard assisted him outside, probably going to the infirmary. Denton was worried about getting caught but he remembered that someone is covering the hole for them. “So, yeah. As you both know, we just came from the infirmary, and yeah, the hole was still there. We uncovered it and started digging the facts. We knew some incredible facts out of here. I will let Paul initiate it.”

“Yeah, I was the one who came inside the hole and as far as you both know, the hole farthest from the infirmary has a room which was unique and different from the guards’ room, which is why we assumed it was the game head’s room,” Paul muttered. Jannah and Sandra nodded as their response to Paul. “Turned out that it was not the game head’s room but was by the game head’s secretary or assistant or what-so-ever you call him. The game head has his own room, for sure, not in this area. Since the assistant calls his boss by a telephone, I can assure that the game head is not here.”

“To continue,” Denton cut Paul and grabbed the mic to continue the talk. “The game head is not here, just as Paul muttered, so we can’t know what is his face or how does he look. One thing we know is that there is a specific reason why the game was paused for this day...” Sandra and Jannah looked invested hearing what the two guys are about to say. “On the telephone call, they said to find this certain someone. The game head told his assistant to find for the lost guard. We are assuming that this lost guard is not actually a guard but an impostor, an impostor who hides behind the guard’s costume. The reason they paused the game is that, they wanted to find the lost guard...”

“The lost guard, an impostor one?” Jannah asked Denton who was nodding his head as a response. Nearly minute after thinking about this thing, something popped out of Jannah’s mind. “I do not know if this does make sense, but... what if that lost guard was the one helping Denton cover things up? What is he is the one who told Denton the things on the game Lucky Seven and is also the one covering the hole?”
