A HOLE BEHIND

“You think so?” Sandra asked Denton, who was walking around the area. Denton was all tightly looking at the equipment inside the area, carefully examining everything like he was not even hurt. He totally forgot the reason why he was there at the clinic and was distracted by all these things inside the area. “You know what, let us first give patches to all those wounds of yours before you take time to examine the whole area. The guards might notice.” Denton went straight to Sandra after she told him that remark. “Something really is odd here,” he said as Sandra started to put ointment on Denton’s wound. “But, my guess could be incorrect at some point. Why would there be something in here if they weren’t able to put a surveillance camera there? It just messes up the idea.” “It is all done,” Sandra muttered as she put on the last strip of the band-aid on Denton’s lips. Denton’s lips was the part that was affected the most, since Hector attacked him using a punch. “Now, let’s talk about what you are thinking about this room. Do you really think something is in here?” Denton nodded while one of his hands were holding his chin. He looked at all the equipment inside the infirmary and doubted everything he could see, only not Sandra. The latter, anyway, is sitting at the patient’s bed, just looking at Denton who was busy looking at all the stuffs. “Do you really think that something is weird or nah?” “My guts is telling me so,” Denton muttered as he looked back at Sandra who raised her eyebrows, asking Denton what is he up to. “Sandra, can I ask you a question? Are you up to discovering things in this hell? Tell me if you aren’t, though.” Sandra jerked her shoulders. “I mean, as if my life does not depend on this. Since there is no assurance of me surviving this hell, I am not going to decline doing things I may not have the chance to do so when I am dead,” she muttered and smiled. She stood up from where she was sitting and faced Denton. “What are you thinking? Should we make a discovery inside this very narrow area?” “This is a narrow area but I do thini we will be able to find a wider area just by exploring this place,” Denton muttered as he looked at the walls on the area. “If we could bring Jannah here, it would be helpful. I just think that the paint used in this place not equal or uneven. This part...” he said as he pointed the part on their right. “It is different than this part, its opposite side. The right side looks more pastel-like, making it look like a yellow to me, or so I think?” Sandra nodded. “I can see the difference, though. And, as far as I know, if the paint looks different in this both area, there might be some difference between the paint used or the material used for the wall. Something might really be here.” Sandra went near the wall on the left and started knocking on it. She suddenly looked at the door to secure whether the guard can hear what she is doing that time. “He surely cannot hear what I am doing,” Sandra replied to Denton who was also knocking on the wall of the infirmary. “Or, he might be acting like he cannot hear what we are doing here.” Denton nodded before he continued on knocking on the wall to see which wall is different to the others. “Can you knock on that wall again, Sandra?” he asked Sandra to knock on the wall, which the other one did by his command. He started on knocking on the wall near him. “They really are different, and it is weird because this room is not the room on the most corner. Also, they would not add some substance here if they already use the kind of bricks and cements they used on the other rooms.” “That’s really weird, if we are going to talk about it,” Sandra muttered as she then again knocked on the wall near her. “This wall here sounds like it was made of wood but it is obviously made by a cement. Maybe they added this as something which can be break faster than a cement? The reason why? I do not know.” Denton heaved a deep sigh before he started walking towards the right wall. He started on knocking it slowly from up to down, from left to right, feeling as if something really is weird. “This cabinet here has wheels on it. Weird, right? Why would they add four wheels in it?” Denton started on moving the cabinet away from the wall and started on knocking on the wall where the cabinet is covering. He stopped as he heard a different sound from it. “It sounds like a wood covering a hollow hole. There must be a hole here. Should we break this?” Sandra listened to how Denton knocked on the wall and the part of the wall which was covered by the cabinet. “Don’t you think it will be a bit noisy for the guard to hear it? We might not make it out for this?” Denton knocked on the wall with all his might as he looked at the door which was barely moving. “Denton, what are you doing? The guard will hear it!” Denton did not bother listening to Sandra as he started to make a hole in the wall with his own fist. Sandra was too stunned to speak that time. She just let Denton do what he wanted as she started on securing the door. “Just do it quickly and one-take, so that the guard will not be suspicious of what we are doing inside the infirmary,” Sandra muttered as she placed her left ear on the door. “He was not moving though. I do not think if he is still out there or not. Did you make a hole on it? Cover it with the cabinet now.” “Woah,” Denton exclaimed as he looked at the hole on the wall. It has a passageway in there, which makes the sound you make from knocking on the wall different from knocking on the wall from the other side. Sandra walked her way towards the hole Denton made and saw a sewer inside it. Denton placed his head inside and looked up, to see what is on the up. “I do not know how these one works but we have to do something to know it. There is a ladder upwards. There are only ten steps before you reach the top. I will assume that whatever on the top is the ceiling. I must go up here, Sandra.” Sandra raised her eyebrows. “Are you crazy?” she asked Denton, who was absorbed in looking inside the hole he made. “Must you really do it? The guard can just open the door and see what we are up to here. They can punish us death or anything else. Denton, let us just stick to the plan of letting each of us escape this game without doing anything crazy.” “Well, Sandra, this is the plan,” Denton replied, and entered the whole. Sandra was against him doing that, but Denton is such a hardheaded guy that he cannot really stop. Denton stopped moving before he talked again to Sandra. “The only thing I want you to do is to secure the door and make sure not to let anyone enter. I will be fast, since we are taking a lot of time. I will be back.” Sandra has no other choice but to secure the doorway and not let anyone enter. Luckily, no guard was suspicious of them at the moment. Sandra just stood in front of the door, being aware of everything that was surrounding them. Denton, on the other hand, was busy stepping on the ladder towards the upper side of the passage that was created on the wall. “Denton, how many minutes will it take you to go down?” “More minute. The way is too narrow for me, I am trying to fit in and it goes successfully whenever I do it slower,” Denton replied to Sandra who was already sweating while waiting for Denton to come down. “Just wait more. Secure the door.” It was the same exact moment when a knock on the door was made. It was then followed by the voice of the guard. “The players are taking too long inside the infirmary. We will be giving you another minute, and after that, we will open the door with or without your permission.” Sandra ran towards Denton and placed her head inside the hole. “Let’s do this the other time, Denton. They only give us a minute before they enter the infirmary. Let us just be back at it tomorrow or anytime, just some time but this time. It’s crucial.” She removed her head inside the wall when she saw Denton moving. “Just go down. We’ll take a look at this when we have another time.”
