I slammed the door behind me, the sound reverberating through the house. Luckily, Chunkz was at Audrey’s. I couldn’t be worried about the dog, not when my every thought was consumed with Samantha and finding her. It was way past midnight and she still wasn’t home. I called her number over and over and over again. No response. Her phone was still turned off. I paced the length of the house, threading my fingers through my hair in frustration.
Where could she be? Sam wasn’t the type to just stay out all hours of the night. She wouldn’t go out without informing someone and certainly not alone. Something must have happened to her.
