I started moving first, staying low and using the parked cars as cover, incase they started shooting at us again. Ollie followed close behind me, trying to copy my movements exactly, knowing how dire it was at the moment.
We made it about halfway across the lot before I heard shouting behind us.
"There! By the blue sedan!"
I grabbed Ollie's hand and abandoned any attempt at stealth. "Run!"
We sprinted across the remaining distance as gunshots rang out behind us. The bullets sparked off the concrete and shattered car windows, but we were moving too erratically for them to get a clear shot.
