Cain's Pov
I rushed into the tent to see her thrashing wildly against Bones who kept trying to contain her.
My feet moved to her faster than my brain could think, “Hey, it's me” I cooed, “everything is okay, you're fine” I moved to cradle her, feeling the warmth of her body.
Her nails dug into my skin, like a wounded cat but I held on barely fazed by her tiny assaults.
“Everything will be alright, just relax” I kept whispering, cradling her against my chest, the tightness I felt from it earlier had considerably reduced.
She stopped thrashing, her nails loosened but she gripped me instead, eyes shut tightly but still held onto me like I was her life line.
Her forehead dripped with sweat, brows furrowed, eyes squinted, like she was in pain.
I couldn't help wondering, what exactly did that bastard do to her?
“Prez, Let me.”
Bones approached us, holding a syringe, I nodded, still holding her.
“I'll flush out the wolfsbane first, it's already merged with her inner organs, so we'll take it slowe” he explained while plunging the needle in.
He already looked a few years older,
Sigh.
“You should go rest, you look terrible.”
"I'm fine” he shook his head, “just make sure she's okay.” He pressed his lips together before leaving.
I removed the strands of hair sticking on Aria's now pale face, gently I lowered her onto the makeshift bed.
“No” she mumbled, still holding me tightly, her grip like a vice.
I shook my head, but made no move to move, just watching, something told me I was in for a long ride full of unexpected bumps.
Sigh.
“Fight it, kitten” my lips curved sideways.

The Next morning.
Sunlight slipped in through the crack, my eyes blinked open, I looked around surprised then at the little one still passed out beside me.
Weird, I couldn't remember the last time I slept for long, and had no nightmare.
I watched the rise and fall of the figure sleeping peacefully beside me, at the fragile hands that gripped mine tightly.
Her chest rose and fell with a soft hum, a soft snore that showed just how much better she was from last night.
“Cute” I said aloud before thinking about what I just said.
Shit, why did I say that?
I left the tent before she woke up. The team already sat lazily on the meeting tent we always set up waiting for me, it was barely the first morning light.
“Morning Prez” Mika was the first to spot me.
“Hmm” I nodded.
“Morning Alpha” the others greeted after her
“You’re up late” they noted.
“Hmm” I shrugged, waving them off, just like me, they barely sleep.
“Has Gabriel gone to scout?”
“He's back, says we have to leave in the next hour, that'd be our best shot.”
I nodded, “Everyone should get ready, we ride in 20 minutes, and Ghost?”
“Probably passed out in a ditch or something.” Jax rolled his eyes.
I looked at Mika, she sighed, “I'll get him, he's probably sleeping in between rocks or something.”
“Good.” I nodded, while I trusted the silly ass to take care of himself we all had to pass Scarleria together, I would prefer to cross darkwood territory with all my crew in one piece.
The entire camp was wrapped up in ten minutes, something bit into my skin on seeing Aria settle in behind Mika, choosing to ignore her. I mounted my bike and sped off.
Engines roared behind me, soon I spotted the borders of Scarleria, we had to ride through, except everything was quiet.
Something screamed at my instincts just before we could go any further. I stopped mid way, almost sending the bike tumbling but my weight pressed it down.
Seeing me stop, the rest stopped right behind me,
“Prez?”
“Shhh…. Listen.” I hushed
Jax caught it instantly, “it's quiet.” He noted.
I nodded, pressing my mouth on my lips, then continued with the mind link, “something is wrong.”
“Could it be Theron?” Mika wondered.
“He could have told them to wait.”
My eyes roamed the pack borders and into the majestic walls that stood proudly, I shut my eyes letting every other part of me flow with nature, heightening the other part of me.
My eyes shot open, sensing them, “Archers” I scoffed.
“Bastards” Ghost cursed.
“They plan to ambush and deliver us to Theron, possibly as a show of Goodwill.” Jax’s eyes blazed with contempt.
I hummed, good thing I spotted them early, I may not die but I couldn't sacrifice my brothers.
“They can't see us.” Mika smirked, a sharp glint flashing past her pupils.
My eyes jammed with that of Aria, she looked at us questioningly with a hint of frustration edged on her face, naturally she wasn't part of the mind link.
I nearly chuckled, She scoffed, throwing her face away.
“Their high walls are also their greatest weakness, it protects and blinds them all at once.” Stanley's voice pulls my attention back to the conversation going on.
My voice turned cold at the thought of what would have happened had I not noticed, “Weed them out.”
Engines rumbled, “Drop her.” I turned to Mika before she rode out.
She nodded and picked Aria up easily,
“Whoa, what are you doing? Put me down.” She instantly protested.
She put her down and zoomed off followed by the rest of the crew, they were more than enough to handle those cowards.
“You need to feed her more prez, she's tiny and skinny.” Mika's voice filled my ears before we were finally the only ones left.
Aria glared at me, her eyes practically shooting daggers, “You told her to drop me” she accused.
“I’ll go straight to the point Princess, ride with me or wait to be picked up by your father's spies.”
“No.” She spat without hesitation.
I shrugged, we're at Scarleria, beyond it is the bridge of darkwood, her body tensed at the mention of darkwood.
She's heard of it. Good, spares me a lot of trouble.
Her voice turned small, “You're kidding”
“You're free to call my bluff princess, but I'm riding out in five minutes, you have to decide before they clear the path,”
“You—”
“Time's ticking, what will it be?” I cut her off.
