I make our way back to my room quickly, keeping my head down to not draw attention to my disheveled state.
I duck in to get my things for a shower. Katie sits up in her bed, her eyebrows raised as she looks at me.
“Well you don’t waste any time, do you Jade?”
She’s mad. I nervously brush out my hair and take a breath.
“Katie hi. How was your weekend?” I ask testing the waters.
“Well I spent most of it looking for you after you lied about where you were. Where the hell were you?”
“I’m so sorry Katie. I didn’t think you guys would go looking for me.” I sigh. “I was with Travis.”
“Why would you lie to me? I don’t care if you want to be with Travis? I care that you trust me as your friend!”
