The nurse ices and puts my foot in boot. She also wraps my wrist, eyeing me but saying nothing about the bite marks. I’m allowed to go back to my room with a pair of crutches but I’m told I’ll have to go into town tomorrow for X-rays. She knows it’s broken but I have to go make sure it wouldn’t need surgery. I sigh and thank her, taking down the details I need for my appointment. At least that means I don’t have to go to class tomorrow and face everyone. It’s well after 2am by the time I get to my room. I notice Katie isn’t there either and make a mental note to figure out what’s going on with her. I stash the gun and fall face first into my bed. I’m pretty sure I was asleep by the time I hit the pillow. I wake feeling pretty refreshed which is a nice change. I check the clock - 10
