Later that day, Tristan and her took a stroll right in front of the beautiful tower, she came back satisfied for the day’s trip. She doesn’t expect something to happen and to see him that day, but it was too great for her to meet him.
They manage to get back before the golden hour. They also talked about the things she might get through, but little did she knows that it was all planned. Tristan is doing his job very clean and the fact that he felt that he needs to get closer to her was processing and he needed to get there eventually.
Aryn was accompanied by Tristan all the way home. As she arrived home, she was greeted by her auntie who is busy in the kitchen, preparing their dinner, while her cousin is sitting on the sofa in front of the television, watching some series.
“Wait? What drama is this?”
“Uhm? The golden sunset, why?” her cousin replied as she noticed something from the view.
“Wait-don’t tell me you also like the leading man!” she asked as her eyes widen and pointed her finger at her. Aryn sit down beside her and said, “I don’t even know who is the actor!” She innocently asked. She likes surprises and the face of her cousin if she knows that the man in the drama is his friend who happened to be befriended in Honfleur as they both watch the sunset and the stars while feeling the breeze she misses.
“Why would I?”
“Are you gate-keeping him?” she asked the younger.
“Wha-No! of course not!”
“Alright, you say!” Aryn teased as she put both of her hands up for surrender but the teasing tone is still there.
“But are you his fan?” she looked at Aryn like she is telling jokes.
“Why? Not all people who watch a drama are already a fan of them, not all but some of them.”
“Maybe?”
She looked disappointed at her cousin’s answer. In that way, her joke will not go well, as she needs her to admit that she has fangirl feels for Tristan.
She sighed and said, “Fine! It’s a yes!”
“Oh really?” she teased her again. “I thought we will be playing hard to get here. What’s with the sudden confession? Huh?”
“Aish! Just shut up! You get what you want to go away!” Cosette pouted as she was mad-mad about the teasing which find her endearing. Aryn wonders if she has patience longer than a meter ruler.
“Not yet!” she smirked and Sette just glared at her. She was done but she is looking so funny but Aryn tried not to be obvious as possible.
“Will you be mad if I was this close on him?” Aryn put out her phone and placed the thing near Cosette’s face to make her look at the picture they took earlier under the tower.
---
“What the f**k!?”
“Words, lady!” her mom yelled from the kitchen as she screams as she saw it and aggressively get the phone out of Aryn’s precious hand.
“WHAOHDHDU!” she was loud after looking at the phone.
“Are you trippin’ out?”
“Hell no, lady! I’m calm this way!” she sarcastically said. Aryn grabs the throw pillow and throws it to Cosette’s face.
“How lucky you are!!”
“What? I don’t even know that you’re a fan of him until now!” she said.
“Well, it’s not too long of being a fan of him because he just debuted, right?”
“Yep!”
“So where did you see him? In Paris, like earlier?”
“I had known him back to Honfleur,” I stated
“It’s a crazy day for me then I took a walk to the harbor then when I was chilling in the dock. He came to me-the funny thing is I almost make his nose bleed because of how surprised I am.”
“Wow! Tell me more!”
“Whoa!” I looked at her surprised that she is eager to know more while she has some audacity to deny that she is no fan of him.
She looked back at me and said, “What? I need some juices and tea here but I don’t drink tea but please spill the tea please for my sanity!”
“Fine!” I mumbled. “I don’t know him at all because I don’t watch television series-”
“What a boring life!” she interrupted my storytelling and commented. What-how-what the…!! She has some guts to cut me off, I sarcastically thought but shrugged it off and continued.
“Anyways! He asked if I bring a phone and I said yes and he typed in something and later on, he showed me the search result of him being recognized as a rookie actor!”
“How lucky are you!!”
“Yeah! Well because I’m Aryn!” I confidently said. She just sighed like she expected me to say those lines. This kid is having something different like an audacity for not reacting too much. Well, I can’t make people react all the time. I chuckled a little.
“Uhm…can you gift me something this incoming Christmas?” she said after some silence.
“Hmm... let me think of it first!” I replied.
“You don’t even know it. Why would you think first?”
“Yes you don’t say it but as a person, you told me about giving you a gift. I’ll be thinking thoroughly about it,” I seriously said, while emphasizing each word.
“I’m just kidding! Go on!”
“I don’t want to anymore!”
“What a b*tch!” my mouth was wide open because of how done I am to her.
“Just kidding!” I looked at her without any emotions and she looked at me enjoying every moment.
“You know what? I’m out here!” I said and marched to the kitchen. I’m not upset but it’s all a playful thing. I never thought that we will be close in minutes. Like, we get along really well but our connections are not that deep, yet.
She exhaled beside me before saying, “Fine! I’ll be serious.”
“You better be serious this time!”
“Can I hang out with you when you hang out with…”
“Tristan.” I finished her sentence because from the start I know what is the “gift” she wants to get. I’m not pretty surprised.
“Well, that’s a big and desperate gift,” I told her and she just nodded her head. I’m glad she understood it.
“I don’t want to give you any promises because promises are a sign of hope.” I looked directly into her eyes so that she knows that I’m taking this seriously. He is a celebrity and I’m just a friend, he might think that I’m using him. He did so much for me and trust me and I don’t want to break that trust.
“I will just try,” I assured her by telling her that I will try. I’ll just try for her if it will go smoothly or if he wants to I will be grateful and that’s the only time I will tell her that she can hang out with us on Christmas but that day is a bit far.
“I understand. I will just wait!”
“it’s better not to get your hopes up. You don’t want a broken heart on Christmas eve. Sulking while eating your mom’s delish dishes.” I informed and half-heartedly threaten her.
“Oke doke!” She smiled a bit.
“Please don’t make it a bad thing!” I pleaded. She might think I’m being selfish but I am not. I’m doing it for both of them.
“It’s fine. I understand it’s really hard to ask someone out, and he is no ordinary, he is a celebrity too.”
“Thank you!”
“No problem!” I smiled at her and she gave me one too.
“Alright girls! Here’s the food!” Auntie Melinda announced as she walked towards us with both plates in her hands.
“Aryn, you get the plates, and you, Cosette get the utensils!” she commanded us because we are just sitting and doing nothing at the dining table.
It’s quarter to seven, as we finished eating and we only talked about the day we have. They don’t have many stories unlike me. I told them the story from the top until it ended.
“Look, Aryn!” Auntie said making me look at her. “Most people in Paris go out of the town, to go to other places who have less building, and here you are.”
“Ironic, isn’t it?”
“My situation is I came from the other city,” I said.
“Well, you have a point. I think you also get tired of seeing nature!” my auntie chuckled.
“You’re not wrong!” I acknowledge it. “As much I loved the view, it’s better to go to other places.”
“Speaking of places, your mother also mentioned about you being an athlete,”
“Yes, I did some figure skating.”
“Whoa! That’s a pretty elegant sport!” Cosette commented.
“Oh, that’s why you’re fit!”
“Am I fit, mom?” Cosette suddenly asked. Her mom just looked at her.
“Funny!”
“Well, you look fine by sleeping!”
“How dare you!”
“What? I just said a fact!” I sneer at her.
“You two are so rude to me!”
“No dear, that’s our love language to you.”
If auntie didn’t yawn I would not notice that the sky is dark and the sun was not in the sky anymore. I asked my permission to take a leave because tomorrow will be a big and nervous moment for me. It’s a bit early for me to go to sleep so I decided to take out the notebook, Tristan gave earlier and try to memorize or just even learn a little bit. It looks like I am still studying in a rush hour.
I’m pretty impressed that I understand his handwritings, no cap. It’s funny for me to even thought of it. I’m out of focus again so I slapped myself and continue to read.
After I finished reading I walk towards my closet and found a newly ironed dress with a sticky note on it that says, “This is our gift for you, my niece! Do well in the interview! Ace that sh*t!” – Auntie Melinda and Cosette.
“Oh no!” I said. I want to cry but I just held it in.
“Good luck!” They yelled from the outside and respond, “Thank you so much!” I don’t bother to go out as they turn the lights of implying that they just waited for me to notice the dress.
It’s a black dress that reaches above my knee, and tights. This will be my first time wearing a look like this. It will be my first time to wear this in public like actual, walking. The last time I wore a bit shorter dress was when I was still Ice skating, and all of my outfits were all pants and blouses and sweatshirts.
I remove the dress from my closet and put it out, carefully, I want it wrinkle-free, stain-free, and otherwise pristine. I’m pretty excited and nervous about tomorrow but I hope that I’ll do well. After that, I took a shower and organized the things that I’ll be bringing for tomorrow.
As I will be going to turn off the lights, I noticed a box, a shoebox for specific. I opened it and find black closed-toe low heels. Did they also buy me shoes?
I smiled at how effort and sweet they are to me. It’s not that I’m a stranger to them but this is my first time meeting them, especially with Cosette and being with in the same house.
I’d say that I will be forever grateful for being supportive of me even though they are just my relatives. Nevertheless, relatives should be with each other backs. I put on the shoes hopefully if fits, I think they ask my mom what is my shoe size or they just looked at my other pair of shoes that I have. I only brought two because it’s a hassle. Speaking of my mom, I wonder how she and all of them do, and if dad arrived from his travel.
With that said I dream off again into my dreamland. Wherever they are, I mumbled in the thin air that they will have a good night, sweet dreams.
