An hour after we have this little, mini-meeting with him and his investigator. My mom called me as the police officer arrived after I left for a minute interval. I saw my mother outside the room, sobbing, as they talked about some serious matters. I slowly walked behind them not likely to startle them but of course, I don’t want also to be disrespectful. Gladly, the man in the uniform noticed me and asked if my mom knows me and she nodded. The police signaled to come close and that’s what I did. “Good afternoon, I am the first responder, OF-2 Roy Dupont. I am here to give you the information that we gathered,” he introduced himself to me and why he is here. I nodded and said my name also. “Thankfully, the area where the incident happened has a CCTV camera, but there is something wrong,” he began which made us look at him. We change places and we are now in the cafeteria of the first level and thankfully, it’s not too crowded. “As we analyze the video clip from the time the accident happened, the truck that hit the car has no plate number in front and the back,” he continued as he pulled out the device to make us watch the video clip that he is saying to us. The clip is not that blurry and we can see that the plate number is somehow gone or it was covered by some glossy black material, which is unreadable. It’s such a suspicious and illegal thing to do, but, why? “As you can see there is no indicated plate number for the vehicle and I know they know that it is illegal,” he added. “So. Do you mean…that…” “It’s not just an accident, it was planned.” He finished my mother’s sentence. I gasped at what was said—but then the questions of who and why lingers in my head. I don’t even know if my dad has some enemies but I know my dad is not a person who picks fight nor get himself into trouble. “Who could do this…to my husband!” my mom cried harder as she heard it from the officer. “Don’t worry too much as we will surely get into this deeper. I will keep you in touch if we get some more information or someone might see the accident.” “Yes, please. Thank you so much!” we said as we walked him in the exit of the hospital. We kept a weighty air as the officer exited the building. --- The day for me was tiring and gloomy. As I thought that I’ll be arriving at my house with their smile and warm hugs as we eat together in the dining room with our favorite foods. Like the moment my alarm clock went off this morning, I was up, out of bed, and into the shower. I spend ten minutes and headed to our kitchen. My mom insisted to leave her, so, that she can take care of my dad as I get some things here and join them. I have so much on my plate and I will be leaving some for the meantime until this situation with my dad moves forward. We are not the type to go on without a plan but we are not also someone who lay back and make others do it on their own. It’s my dad for Pete’s sake and I will not be returning without cleaning all, on my plate. I start to build up a plan to help Mr. Martin and all I need is Johan and his mom to cooperate without the latter noticing it. The car was somewhere I don’t know—I think it is in the repair shop because it looks so bad. Well, who will be in a good state when a huge vehicle hits you without thinking. As the officer explained the details of the accident—I believe it is not a mere incident or something like overspeeding because it is obvious that they don’t want to reveal themselves and only reveal their hideous plan. As I want to go out there and drag them out in front of the court, I need to be careful I may or may not be the next target. I need to be careful as much as possible so that I can’t drag anyone to the problem. I wear a disguise and went to the bus stop. I’m going to travel for an hour again, that’s why I get all the belongings that we needed. I can’t trust people right now and I should be alert, I know there will be someone out there finding a timing to crush us all. After I spend an hour sitting in the uncomfortable chair, I finally arrived at Caen and wasted no time to go to the hospital, into my father’s room. “Hey, mom!” I greeted her lightly as I can see that she is thinking deeply. “I am…lost,” she said. She has dark circles and is plump, red all around her eyes. You can tell that she cried for a long time without her telling you. I can’t say anything as my heart is heavy, as I look back to my father who is laying in his bed. “Did father wake up?” I asked. Trying to make a conversation. “Yes, he did!” “Did he as for me?” I hesitantly asked. A second of silence before she spoke, “Yes, he did!” I don’t want to cry or hug him as much as I want to. I miss my dad, I miss my family, I want this time to be happy and make them proud but I can’t. I can’t do it this time. I changed my attention and went to unpack some food and put some water in the mini-fridge. I kept myself busy, as I insisted that mom should take asleep on the couch for the meantime until she get enough rest. I get myself a book to make myself entertained. For a matter of time, I kept tossing around as I keep getting bored. I don’t want to tell Aryn about my situation, yet, she may be enjoying her life as a city girl and I don’t want her to get some negative news. Being a friend to someone doesn’t mean that both of you need to know all the whereabouts of both of you. She will understand me, I know, for being inactive. My only wish, for now, is to solve my problem and wish the day will come back around as if nothing happened. It will be in my mind, I will not forget, but it will not stay in my heart because I will not give myself more pain.
