"We are going to let you get some rest," Elizabeth told Alex later that night. She and Jared left the room.
Once they were alone inside their room she looked at Jared. "I don't know what to do."
"Elizabeth, I am always going to hate him for what he did you," he whispered. "I believe that he thought you agreed to it but I still hurt when I remember it all. I thought I was going to lose you." tears were clear in his eyes and slowly one trickled down his cheek.
Elizabeth wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "I'm never leaving you, I promise."
Thinking about what had been said. "Alex hasn't touched anyone since the boys were born. You would have known. So, what do you want to do?"
"We need to behave until we decide," she said looking at him. "You saw what happened to him earlier and he never even told anyone."
Jared nodded. "We will figure this out. You also need to decide about the thrown."
Elizabeth looked at him confused.
"Your step-father is going to give up the crown, he wants to enjoy time with your mother. You are the rightful Queen, if you don't take the crown, he will turn it over to his son. He doesn't want to do that because everyone knows you are the true royal heir."
Elizabeth nodded. "Are you ready to be King?" she asked.
He smiled at her. "I will do anything for you."
Pulling her shirt over her head, he pulled his on her body. She dropped her pants onto the floor and crawled into bed with him, snuggling into his chest, she fell asleep. He laid there thinking, how could he fix this new mess. He didn't want to share her with anyone but he might not have a choice. She is his mate, she chose him. She was the only girl he ever wanted, the only one he could think about over the years. She was his everything. Hearing the baby monitor he got up and headed for the nursery. He was surprised to see Alex already in the room.
"Hey there beautiful, you need to let your mama sleep, how about we rock for a little while," Alex whispered to Elsa. He started to pat her back while he rocked her. She let out a tiny burp and slowly drifted off to sleep. "You are such a good little girl." He said kissing her cheek and putting her back in the crib next to her twin.
Heading back to his room he heard Jared and spun around. "You were really nice to her. You care about her."
"Yeah, I'm sorry if I am stepping out of line. I can't help but care about them."
"No, it's ok. The more people that care about the pups, the better." Jared said looking at him. "What is your plan?" he asked after being silent for a while.
"I don't have one," Alex said still looking at him. "I still don't understand how I am this close to the kids but I will take care of them as long as you two let me."
"I like how you act now with the pups. I appreciate what you do for them, but I haven't forgotten what you did. I still have nightmares about what you did to her. All those months, all the surgeries, do you know how many times she died? I was with her every day and every night, she didn't have her wolf, it was horrible. You completely broke her, she trusted no one, I brought her back. You never even visited her, never cared."
"I did, I do. I realized what we did, realized I screwed up. I just didn't know she wasn't healing, didn't know about her wolf. I was only with someone once after her, I had no interest. I only care about her, what they say about the mate pull, they are right. I can't get her out of my mind, her and the boys. I care about your pups too. I don't know what to do."
"Accept her rejection so you can move on, she already has."
"We still have a connection after the f****d up s**t I did to her, I can't break it. We are connected for a reason. We have a pack to run, we need to help her with the pups, and she has so much more that she is doing."
"This is all so messed up. Just remember she is my mate, I am watching you." with that he headed back to Elizabeth.
Waking up the next morning, Elizabeth watched Jared. He slowly opened his eyes and smiled at her. "I love you," she said smiling at him. "We need to go for a run."
"Yes we do," he said smiling.
Getting out of bed, Elizabeth knocked on Jacob's door. "Can you two watch the pups, we are going for a run."
"Absolutely, enjoy yourselves," Cory responded.
Headed out to the woods, Elizabeth and Jared shifted and started racing through the woods. Running up a few hills and finally coming to their favorite place, a beautiful lake.
Knight jumped on Goddess, causing them to both roll down an embankment, his wolf landing on top of hers. He teasingly tried to pin her, licking her face. She flipped them over and licked his face, pushing her paws on him she sunk her teeth into his neck, marking his wolf. Knight was in heaven, Goddess accepted him as hers. His wolf almost appeared to smile, sinking his teeth into her. They continued to play and chase each other until it was time to head back to the pups. Shifting back, they walked out of the woods hand in hand. Elizabeth handed him some shorts before they walked out.
"It's so cool that you can shift back fully clothed." He said grinning at her. "Saves me from killing all the wolves that try and look at you."
"Only you want to look at me," she said shaking her head.
Stopping her from walking he turned her towards him, "You know you are beautiful right?" he said searching her face.
"No, I'm not," she said shaking her head.
"Elizabeth, the reason everyone wanted to be your mate, don't you know?"
"Why?"
"You're beautiful, kind, smart, and powerful. Every she-wolf wanted to be you and every wolf wanted you as theirs."
She just stared at him.
"And you are MINE."
She smiled and kissed him. "And you are MINE."
"Yes I am," he said grinning.
