Dying?

Jared followed the doctor out of the room, "She has lost a lot of blood. If she makes it through the night, we will have a better idea of her condition. She won't be waking up tonight regardless, she has been medicated." Jared nods at him as he says each part.
"She will be ok?"
"We don't know yet," he says clearing his throat. "If she survives, she won't be having any more pups."
Jared nods in understanding. "We don't need anymore. I need her."
"You also need to worry about the pups, they are small. They were too early."
Jared mind-linked Jacob to come to the hospital.
"I want to see her."
The doctor led her into the room where Elizabeth was unconscious. Several blood bags were empty in the trash and more was being pumped into her. Jared leaned over, kissing her forehead, "I love you, please fight. I can't lose you."
"I am just getting the pups, I will be right back."
He left the room and went back to the pups. "Come on boys, we are going to go into mama's room." He said picking up the girls. "Alex, could you please bring my son with the crib?"
"Sure, is she?"
"We don't know. We will have a better idea tomorrow."
"Are you ok?"
"No"
"The pups, they are . . ."
"Small, . . . they were born too soon."
"Are they . . ."
"We don't know yet."
"What can I do to help?" Alex asked.
Just as the words came out, Jacob entered the room.
"Why is he here?" Jacob asked wide-eyed.
"He was there when she went into early labor," Jared answered motioning to Elizabeth.
Jacob rushed to her side, leaning over he kissed her cheek. Alex growled.
"Get real Beta Boy, she will never be yours!" Jacob taunted.
"Jacob, I need you to take the boys. You and Cory keep them safe."
"Of course, but I don't want to leave her."
"I need you to worry about diapers, feedings, and getting them out of the room if something goes wrong. Can you do that?"
"Yes, Cory is almost here."
Turning to Alex, "I need you to help me take care of the pups. These bottles every hour. They can't eat enough so we have no choice. If something happens to any of them, it will kill her. She won't survive without all her pups, being safe."
Alex nods in understanding. "I can help you Alpha, You take care of her. I can take care of the pups."
"I will help with them, it will keep me calm. I just need help because I don't want to miss anything."
"Of course."
Jared put the girls into the crib and picked up his son. Kissing him he fed him a bottle. "I love you, little man. Boys come to see your little brother." The four little boys, surrounded Jared kissing the little pup. Jared smiled, tears in his eyes watching his boys all together. They were so excited to see the baby.
The twins went to the crib and were rubbing the little feet of their sisters through the slots in the crib. They both were giggling.
"What are you two doing?" Jared asked hearing the giggles.
"Tickles," Xander said laughing more. Xavier nodded.
"Do you want to see them better?" Alex asked picking up the girls and bending down to the boys.
"Baby" Xavier whispered, he was very excited. His entire face lit up.
Jared looked over and saw Jacob holding Elizabeth's hand, tears in his eyes.
As soon as Cory entered the room, he saw how bad things were looking. "It was too early." He said and Jared nodded. "Is she?"
"She will be, I know she will be," Jared said sounding determined.
"Jared wants you and Jacob to watch after the 4 boys. Food, health, sleeping arrangements, diapers, getting them out of here if something serious happens."
Cory nodded "Of course."
Alex handed him one of the girls, "I am sure you want to hold her. You haven't taken your eyes off her."
"She is beautiful, they both are." He whispered. Looking over, "Oh my god, you had three." he squealed. He rushed over and kissed the little boy and other baby girl's head.
"Yeah, she wanted to surprise you," Jared said with a light chuckle. "She won't be awake tonight. If she doesn't wake up in the morning, . . . I don't know what I will do. I can't live without her."
Jacob cut him off, "You were there when she died you stayed by her side. You nursed her back, you protected her when she had no one else. She won't leave you. You have to have faith, she will wake up. It may take some time, but she will."
"Thank you, Jacob, I needed that. Now get out, go feed my pups."
Laughing, "Yes, Alpha. If anything"
Cutting him off, "If anything, I will let you know immediately."
Shaking his head, "Thank you. Boys, who would like me to make, Spaghetti o's and grilled cheese?"
"Me"

All the little voices say at the same time.
Laughing, "then let's go." Jacob tells them.
"That is not healthy." Jared yells
"It is the way I do it," Jacob yells back.
A nurse comes in, "They need to eat more Alpha." She says looking at him serious. "We should put a feeding line into them."
He stares at her, he doesn't know what to do. "Get the doctor."
"Of course Alpha"
A few minutes later the doctor enters. "I know you won't like it, but she can't nurse them. They are not getting enough nutrients, we need to help them."
"Do what you have to do to keep them healthy."
Alex feels so bad for Jared. He is scared for the pups. He grabs Jared's hand, "You are doing the right thing." he says looking at him with a very serious expression.
"I really hope I am."
"You are."
Alex mind-links one of the cooks and has her deliver food for Jared.
The surgeons enter and remove the pups, they are returned after the feeding tubes were placed. Jared holds the little hands, he feels bad, seeing them in pain. Once they are sleeping, the food arrives.
"Thank you, Alex says as he takes the bags. Beta Alex, I brought you dinner also. You need to eat too."
"That was very kind of you. Thank you." Alex says letting her go.
After getting it out and placing a fork he hands it to Jared.
"No thanks."
"You are eating, you are no good to her if you get sick," Alex says sternly.
Jared stared at him.
"Eat," he said again.
Laughing, Jared took a bite. "This is good."
Alex took the other out and took a bite. "Yes, it really is."
