Alpha Elizabeth's Betrayl

Aftermath

The crowd appeared surprised at the events that had just unfolded in front of them.   Elizabeth was upset and deeply hurt that her step-brother and cousin would lead a group that seemed intent on killing her and her mates.  Xander had his guards round up all the people fingered as being a part of the conspiracy including Alphas from the other packs. Elizabeth rushed from the room, she grabbed Alex's hand and pulled him with her.  She only paused her steps once they were outside to look at him and ask, "Are you ok?"

"Yes," he said nodding, barely speaking.  She continued her fast pace until she got to their residence, she saw dead wolves outside including a few of the children's guards.  As she burst through the door, she saw several of the guards in fighting stances.  They all immediately bowed seeing Elizabeth enter.  

"Are the pups ok?"  she asked eyes wide.

"Yes Alpha"  several muttered.

"Are you all ok?"  as the words left her mouth she saw several were injured and bleeding quite profusely.  

Elizabeth shifted into her wolf, Goddess and went to the injured wolves.  She licked their wounds and injured areas and to everyone's amazement, the injuries were immediately healed with a flash of light.  Alex watched in amazement.  Once his senses came back to him, he went and checked each of the pups.  Xander had claw mark across his back, he only found this when he inspected each.  

"Goddess," He whispered.  As she turned around and saw the fear on his face she went to him immediately inspecting the pup.  Seeing the injury she licked his wounds as he hugged his father and they went away with a flash of light.  She shifted back still checking all the boys.

Alex could see the tears coming to her eyes, he grabbed her hand removing her from the room.  He quickly pulled her into his chest, "This is not your fault,"  he whispered into her ear.

"Yes, it is.  I should have known they were going to do this.  They hurt my pup."  her heart felt like it was breaking.  "They could have killed all of them.  They almost killed you.  Thank you for protecting me, I didn't see him come at me."

"Elizabeth, did you know that you could do that?"  Alex asked her.

"Do what?"

"Heal me like that, well, heal everyone like that."

"No," she whispered shaking her head.  "I didn't, something just told me to do it."

"Thank you for stopping him from hurting me."  She said kissing him.

"Thank you for saving me,"  Alex said hugging her tighter.  "I thought I was going to die."

Jared went to the cells and had Tom brought into a room to speak with.  "Why would you do that to her, to our family?  No one is that depraved."

"If you hadn't switched our drinks, she'd be dead right now."  he snarled.

"She is your family, why would you do that?"

"She should have been a good little girl, married her mate, became a Luna.  I was supposed to take that pack, she stole my destiny."

"You were never going to be an Alpha, it was not your destiny.  You are such a strong candidate that you tried to drug her to win.  Hell of a challenge."

Jared was so angry, his claws were leaving marks on the table between them.  He got up and left.  He stormed back towards the pack-house.  When he saw the dead wolves and guards, he rushed into the nursery.  Having checked the pups, the guards and nurses explained what had happened.  They told him that Elizabeth and Alex had left the room, that she was upset.

Jared left the room and went looking for the two.  He stopped hearing noises coming from their room.  Alex was talking to Elizabeth and they seemed to have been deep in conversation.  Jared decided to let them have their own time and went back to the pups.
