°Margaux POV°
It has been 15 years since I was born. I grew up with my mother, father, three older brothers, and Marcus. Marcus and I grew pretty close. My parents and brothers said that ever since I was born Marcus had been going back and forth to the pack territory.
Marcus said that I should just call him Marcus. Everyone in my family call him Marcus. He's older than all of us for he's a lycan I've heard he's over a thousand years old. Quite old but his appearance is like a 25 to 30 years old. Maybe he looks young for he does not have a woman on his life, a mate. I feel bad for him but I guess the right time isn't near yet.
"Margaux!" I heard Alex calling. He's my second older brother. "Papa's back. He's with Marcus." He said.
"Really?! I'm coming!" I shouted at him. I'm excited because Marcus' back.
I ran as fast as I can and when I opened the back door and webt pass the kitchen and out to the living room. There I saw him, Marcus, he's still, tall, tanned a little, with his brown wavy hair, and his deep blue ocean deep eyes. I love his eyes. It always gave me a sense of peace and security.
"MARCUS!!!" I ran to him and jumped.
He caught me in time and my legs are around his waist, my arms around his neck, my chest against his chest, and I put my forehead against his. I looked into his eyes that I missed so much. I chased the breath that have run out of my body then I hugged him tightly.
"Ugh!" He groaned. I know it's fake. He knew it as well but I guess it just became a habit of his. Faking everything to make me happy.
"What took you so long?" I asked him.
"I have something to deal with." He replied with a smile. I love that smile of his.
"Margaux, what are you doing? Marcus might be tired. Get down." My mother said.
"It's okay, Lu--- Isabelle." He said. After all this time he still can't dropped the formality. That he said, himself, to drop.
"Marcus. Let me down." I said. Trying to get out of his hold. He squeezed me tighter.
"I wouldn't." Then he started tickling me.
"No. Stop. Please." I repeated this words in between my giggles. He put me down on the couch while tickling me. "Marcus. I missed you." I said to him.
He leaned and kissed my forehead. Like he always do.
"I missed you too." He said with a realky charming smile. We bith looked on each others' eyes and we're pulled back in the reality by my mother.
"Dinner's ready." She shouted from the kitchen.
"Come." Marcus said then offered his hand and helped me stand up.
"Thank you." I muttered.
The dinner's been like always. At least when Marcus around. Everyone's chatty and we all laugh at jokes and sometimes we just laugh because the joke is not funny so it became funny. I don't know how to explain that.
"So, Marcus." My father said. "Any news?" He asked without giving any specifics.
"There's none." He said sadly.
I looked to Marcus then my father. Back and forth. I don't know what they're talking about but I probably shouldn't interfere. The table grew really quiet. I decided to break the silence.
"Marcus and papa." I said to get their attention and I did. "I won three consecutive fights against Beta's son, Anthony. It's a hand to hand combat." I said matter of factly.
"Really?" Both Marcus and papa said at the same time. "That's great." They said, at the same time, again.
We all laughed for they seemed like they have prepared what to say. They always do that. Saying the same stuff at the same time. You'll think that they grew up together but they didn't.
The dinner was really amazing. The whole day is just too good to be true. It seemed like the calm before the storm. I wish that this day is just like the other day. I wish from the deepest part of my heart. Please, Moon Goddess, let this day be just like the other day.
That night. I prayed really hard. I don't know why but I can feel that something bad and devastating will happen. So, I closed my eyes and prayed to the Moon Goddess.
"Let this day be like the other days." I said repeatedly. Over and over again. Until I grew tired and fell asleep.
