Episode Six: Ill Fate

Margaux POV It’s been five years since Marcus left. I still miss him so bad. As if a part of me is gone. My world changed when he left. What I’m feeling right now is not like losing a friend or a family. It’s like I’ve lost a limb and I couldn’t function like I used to. I buried my thought and engaged in martial arts. I’m now part of the elite warriors. The training is harsh and it used all of my energy. But still he managed to make his way on my thoughts. Oh God!!! I hate him. Breathe Margaux, breathe. Don’t think about him. Think about pleasant things. Flowers, chocolate, forest, lake, Marc- God NO!!! Not him. I went straight to my bedroom and packed my stuff. We’re going to another pack to train them. The Black Rose pack is undeniably huge and strong. That’s exactly the problem. They’re huge, gigantic even. We’re just going to help them train and on the course of helping them we are sure to learn. The pack is quite far from us, so maybe I’ll be able to forget him. Even though there’s a part of me that’s telling me not to. The packing tired me out completely so I just cleaned myself and went to bed. I woke up quite early and the sun is not yet up. I worked on my morning routine and went out for a run. I paced the forest and the cold morning air is pleasant to my fur. Nothing much has changed in the forest. It still has the same ambiance. I went back when I felt the soothing warmth of the morning sun. I heard my tummy grumbled and so I headed for the kitchen. The chef is standing there and I get myself a plate and filled it with pancakes and bacons. “Good Morning!” I greeted the chef and went on my way. I ate my food whole heartedly. I asked myself since when did I last indulge myself with food. I can’t seem to remember. I looked at the wall clock and I figured it’s about time for them to wake up. “Good Morning!” My first brother said. “Good Morning!” My second brother greeted. “Morning!” Said by my third brother. They’re all so excited about this trip. It’ll be a really good experience for all of us. You know, learn something to use for future preferences and maybe find their mates. I’m not hoping to see mine. I don’t want to. I don’t like the idea of finding mine. My wolf argued with me for the I-don’t-know-how-many-times now. “Our mate would really be nice and cool, you know. He’ll protect and take care of us. He’ll never leave you. He’ll never abandon us.” My wolf, Antoinette, said. I know she’s right. Mates are someone that’s meant for you. They are given by the moon goddess to us. We’re meant to love them whole heartedly. I just don’t think so. I don’t know but I’ve really got a bad feeling about our mate. The last time I’ve had a bad feeling, I don’t really liked what happened. “You know, stop over thinking things. Mate wouldn’t be like him. He’ll be better than him. Besides he’s not our mate. So, why would he stay?” Antoinette said. “I don’t know. You must admit that every time we think about our mate we feel some kind of chills, right?” I argued back. “Well, maybe that’s nothing. Just stop thinking, okay? Everything’s going to be alright.” Antoinette said. I want to do that but I can’t help but wonder. Will he really love us? Will he be just like our parents and the other mated wolves I know? I stopped thinking about those things and just focused on the tasked at hand, putting my luggage at the back of the car. It’ll be a long flight for us. After a couple of hours we arrived at the Black Rose pack, it’s located up north. The pack’s territory lived up to its name. We are guided inside and that’s when I smelled the most aromatic scent I’ve smelled. Petrichor, the smell of rain when it falls on dry soil. I don’t know where it came from until I saw a man. Mate. That’s what my wolf said. She’s happy until the woman beside him hugged him and kissed him. I growled at the sight. I saw him smirked and let go of the woman. He walked to me and introduced his name. “Gabriel Wilson, the future alpha of Black Rose pack. And you are?” “Margaux Knoxx, daughter of the alpha of the Blood Moon pack.” I offered my hand but he did not take it. “Nice meeting you.” “I, Gabriel Wilson, the future alpha of the Black Rose pack. Reject you, Margaux Knoxx, to be my mate and future luna.” He said. My mate rejected me.
