Five As he watched Amber walk away toward her new quarters, Idris wondered if he had made a very great mistake. Not by allowing her the Japanese house; he could understand why she might not feel comfortable sleeping in the same place he did, even though the Huntington house was very large and they certainly would both have adequate space to avoid one another, if that was her goal. No, he thought possibly he had been too lenient, and that it would have made a great deal more sense for him to tell her there was no place for her kind here, that her only possible refuge would be with the other human survivors in Los Alamos.
