15. Love at First Sight!

"You know you are the best, right?" Sona asked sniffing causing me to chuckle.

"I do. " I said and she smiled. Any chuckled this time and hugged me.

"You are indeed the best. I'm sorry Sanny, Sona, I should have stood up for you but I didn't knew what was going on. When I came Sanny was already there. " She said looking down after breaking the hug.

"It's okay Any, you still came out with me, thank you so much. " Sona said giving her a small smile.

"You know I think it's high time you start standing up for yourself Sona. " I told her and she looked at me with determination in her eyes.

"I promise Sanny, I will change. " she said and I smiled at her.

"Let me call a cab. " I told then and they nodded.

"No need" I heard a familiar voice while I was making a call. I turned to find myself face to face with Rannir and his friends.

Ranbir was smiling at me whereas Sid was looking at me dreamily. Parth looked impressed and Malank was gaping at me with shock.

"I brought you here, now I'll take you back as well. " Ranbir said coming forward.

"I'm not alone. " I told him looking at Sona and Any.

"I'll take you girls back. " He said and I nodded.

"Wait a minute. " I heard Sid speaking. He was smiling brightly and it made him look even more handsome than he always looked. Sid was tall, like really tall which made him look a bit intimidating but he wasn't bulky, instead he had a lean body but sure a toned one. His face was boyish and cute which made him look really younger. All in all he was really good looking and drool worthy with that brown hair jelled up, but Ranbir was still better. Wait, what? Why am I comparing them?

"What is it Sid? " Ranbir asked and I came out of my thoughts.

"I wanted to tell her something. " He said pointing at me. I raised an eyebrow at him and he gulped.

"I just wanted to say, YOU WERE FUCKIN' AMAZING" He shouted causing me to chuckle. He came towards me and took my hand in his. Then he stood on his toe like he's wearing heels and made a pout. I frowned at him but before I could speak he started in a really high pitched voice " You know you'll regret this mistake of yours. " and I frowned even more.

Then he raised his eyebrows making a 'I'm-least-interested' face standing properly and said "If you really wanna know about mistakes, you should ask your parents" smirking.

I couldn't control myself and busted into laughter. Oh God he was hilarious. I head laughs around me and turned to find Any and Sona laughing as well and so as Ranbir and his other friends. I was laughing so hard that I was out of breath after a point of time. Sid was laughing as well and my laugh was increasing everytime I looked at him.

"Dude, I'm sorry but I'm falling for your girl. " Sid said still laughing.

"I'm not his girl. " I told him in between my laughs.

"Oh but you'll soon be. " Ranbir said winking and my laughter died. I looked at him breathing heavily and he was looking back at me with some intensity.

"And just so you know, you're still holding her hand. " He said to Sid, his eyes never leaving mine.

"I never knew you were the jealous type. It's okay though, no problem." Sid said shrugging but didn't leave my hand.

"Are you gonna leave her hand or not? " Ranbir asked looking at him in frustration.

Sid left my hand raising his hands up in surrender. "All yours Buddy. " He said smiling at me with a warmth in his eyes. I immediately knew that we are gonna be great friends.

"Okay, so enough, I think we should leave now. " Ranbir said taking my hand in his and leading the way with Any and Sona following us.

"Wait up bro. " I heard Malank calling and we stopped.

"You were awesome Sanyukta, really. " Malank said grinning at me. "Never knew you could be Sassy. " He added and I looked at him narrowing my eyes.

"I guess Ranbir doesn't shares everything with you guys. " I told him smirking at Ranbir who smirked back at me.

"Some personal details must not be shared. " Ranbir said winking and I heard the guys chuckle. My eyes widened at the realisation of what he meant and I hit him on his arm causing him to chuckle.

"Let's go now. " He said and we finally made our way towards the car.

The drive was silent, I was sitting in the front seat with Ranbir driving whereas Sona and Any were in the back seat. In less than ten minutes we reached our dorm and as I was about to step down from the car Ranbir held my wrist.

"Stay. " He said in his husky voice with some unreadable expression on his face.

"Why? " I asked him looking straight in his eyes.

"Will you mind having a walk in the park nearby ? I swear I'll drop you very soon. " He said and I couldn't deny him.

I nodded and he smiled at me. Then I looked at Any and Sona who were already out of the car. Any nodded at me and I smiled at her.

Then I heard Ranbir igniting the engine and we were in the park in a few minutes. He stepped out of the car and opened the door for me. I stepped out thanking him and he just smiled at me.

"You were great today. " He whispered as we started walking on the park.

"Thanks, they deserved it. " I told him and he looked lost for a moment.

"You know, I knew you were feisty, sassy, smart mouthed but I never knew you were this courageous. You stood up against your best friend for a girl's dignity. " He said giving me a heart warming smile.

"Sona is also my friend and about my best friend so it's my duty to point him when he's wrong. And about being courageous so lemme tell you I'm not the kind of person who ignores the wrong. I've always learnt to stand up against wrong. " I told him and he looked down at the grass and then again at me. His eyes and expressions were unreadable. He looked lost in some deep thoughts.

"I'm hungry. " He said out of nowhere and I chuckled at him.

"Me too. " I told him honestly.

"Here's a cafe nearby, wanna go? " He asked and I nodded. We made our way towards the cafe walking, coz it was really nearby, like really. We only had to walk a few steps and we were already there.

"What will you have? " He asked passing me the menu card as we settled down.

"Anything" I told him and he was about to say something when the waiter interrupted us.

"What would you like to have? Sir? Madem? " He asked smiling at us.

"I'll have a pepperoni pizza and a chicken sandwich with a beer. " Randhir ordered and then looked at me.

"I'll have a cheese sandwich and a cheese pizza." I told him and the waiter noted down and went away.

"I should have known. " I heard Ranbir mumble causing me to frown at him.

"What? " I asked and he looked at me.

"That you don't drink. Shouldn't have ordered beer. " He said scratching his nape.

"It's not like that, I drink, occasionally. " I told him.

"Occasionally? As in? " He asked and that's how our never ending conversation started. I told him things about me and I got to know a few things about him as well. His favourite colour is turquoise blue and he doesn't watches movies. He loves music and definitely aspires to be a musician but also he wishes to take over his Dad's company as he's the only heir. Though his family is supportive with his music career but he still wants to join his family business later on. He loves his friends and small kids. His family is everything to him and he loves them to moon and back.

Soon our food arrived and we dig in like we were starving since forever. I have a really good appetite and he was shocked when he got to know that. "You can't be serious. I mean just look at you, your figure is amazing. " was his reaction.

I just laughed at him concentrated on my food. Soon he ordered beer for me as well and we emptied two bottles each. He refrained himself from drinking more coz he was going to drive but nothing was stopping me. I was having my fourth bottle when we exited the cafe after he paid the bill. I promised him that I'll pay him back but he just smiled at me.

I was now tipsy and he had to help me to reach the car. I sat in front of the car leaning on it with my bottle in my hand. He sat beside me looking up in the sky.

"You know, I don't believe in love at first sight. " I told him out of nowhere , looking up in the sky. I could see the stars shining bright and a smile made it's way on my lips.

"Well, but I do. " He said and I felt his eyes on me. I looked at him to find him looking at me intently.

"Really? " I blurted out without thinking and he nodded.

"Yeah, I believe in it, coz I have felt it. " He said, something about his words made my heart pain. He has felt it. He has loved someone. I looked away from him and closed my eyes leaning on the car.

"I've experienced it Sunshine, coz I've fell in love at first sight with..." But before I could hear further darkness took over me and I passed out.
