4. Sunshine

 I reached the class whole one minute late receiving a glare from the teacher but he didn't spoke anything cause he knows I have never been late in my whole school life but today, so I guess that's why he pardoned me. And I also I'm one of his favorite students.I took my seat beside Any who gave me a questioning look but I shrugged at her smiling sheepishly. Then she gave me a look which said 'we'll talk about this later' and I just nodded, smiling nervously.

The class started and the teacher was writing something on the board, I was busy taking notes when something hit my head lightly and fell on my lap. I looked down to find a small crushed piece of paper, I looked here and there to see who has threw this at me but nobody looked suspicious. Then I took the paper and opened it hiding it from the desk. It read:

Don't tell me you bumped into someone else too, that's why you got late ;)

Then it hit me that who must have threw this on me, I looked at Ranbir and found him smirking at me. I immediately looked away from him and tried paying attention to the lecture. I have heard from many about his playboy ways and I don't have a special liking towards the playboys. Though I have one, as my best friend but it's because I trust Arjun and we have been friends before he was like that. But I can't trust Ranbir, so I must maintain good distance from him and avoid any interaction with him at any cost, like I have been doing since forever.

I was paying attention to the class when another chit fell on my lap but this time instead of reading it I kept it inside the desk without opening it and concentrated on the lecture. Then after few minutes another chit came flying towards me and landed on my lap, I did the same with this one also, what I did with the former one.

Then there was a knock on the door and the teacher stopped his lecture. Arjun was the one who knocked and Arav and Arnav were standing behind him. The teacher gave them killer look but Arjun just casually gave him a slip and started walking towards his seat followed by the other two. You can say Mr. Sharma, our teacher isn't very fond of Arjun and vice versa.

Arjun took his regular seat beside me whereas Arav and Arnav sat on Any's side. Arjun winked at the girls who were practically drooling at him and I just shook my head. Then a thought came in my mind that I should tell Arjun about today's incident, I know he'll handle it well.

I took out a small paper and scribbled the whole bumping incident and chits incident in it and passed it to Arjun. He gave me a questioning look but I signalled him to read and he did. After he read it he looked at me and I passed him the 3 chits. He read the first one, then opened the second one and I peeked at it, of course I'm curious to know what's written in it. It read:

Ain't you gonna answer me, sunshine?

I cringed my nose at the super cheesy adjective. Then Arjun opened another chit and it read:

Are you ignoring me, sunshine?

Yes, what are you gonna do about it? I wanted to shout but I just kept quiet and looked at Arjun who blinked at me assuring me and I smiled at him. He too smiled back at me and that's when we heard Mr. Sharma calling out for us.

"Mr. Rajpoot and Miss. Agrawal, I would love to know the topic which you guys find more important than listening to the lecture going on" Mr. Sharma asked glaring at us. I gulped and before I could apologize Arjun interrupted.

"I'm sorry sir but I may have seen Mrs. Sharma and Mr. Mathur making out in the janitor's locker" Arjun said and we heard gasps in the classroom, students started gossiping and my eyes widen at Arjun's revelation. I looked up at Arjun to find him smirking, then I looked at poor Mr. Sharma. The man looked like he was about to cry any time. Mrs. Sharma is our physics teacher and Mr. Sharma's wife. I'm feeling really bad for the poor man but others are finding it very amusing, specially the jocks and bimbos, heartless people.

Mr. Sharma immediately excused himself and left the class. The class echoed with laughter and chuckles. Everyone was appreciating Arjun and that boasted up his already big ego. I rolled my eyes and left the classroom. I went to the library and sat on my regular seat as we are having now this lecture free and the other one is also free cause it's physics. There was no one in the library, not even the librarian. I took a book for reading when I heard footsteps, assuming it to be Any I started blabbering.

"I don't get what's so funny Any? The poor man just now got to know that his wife's cheating on him and that too in front of the whole class, by a student. How could someone laugh at this? No one's concerned about what the poor man must be feeling! And how could Arjun do this? I didn't knew that just to satisfy his big fat ego, he can go to this extend. He humiliated the man in front of the whole class. How can someone do this? How can someone be so heartless? You know what Any, I hate everyone of them now, they all were laughing at that man's condition. He is our teacher for God's sake. I can't understand how they all can be so heartle.." my words died in my throat as soon as I turned backwards. It wasn't Any, but Ranbir was standing there with a smile on his face.

I glared at him as he sat beside me. I got up to leave but he caught my wrist and pulled me towards him. I landed on his lap and struggled to get out of there but my all struggle went in vain as soon as he embraced me. I was caged inside his iron of hands and I knew that I can't get out of here so I just gave up and sat quietly looking down.

"So, Arjun did wrong?" he asked keeping his chin on my shoulder and inhaling deeply.

"According to me, yes" I said looking at him and he smiled sweetly at me. He was hugging me from back and after my answer he snuggled more close to me making me highly uncomfortable.

"Um, Ranbir " I tried to wriggle and may be that's when he realised that it's getting awkward coz he loosened his grip a bit and removed his chin from my shoulder. He stared at me like I'm from some other planet and I just frowned at him.

"Girls die to be in your position, you know it right?" He asked and I just rolled my eyes.

"I have heard it many times" I said in a bored tone and he chuckled.

"From Arjun" he said looking amused and I just shrugged.

"Now will you kindly let me get up from your lap where 'girls die to be'" I said quoting the last part with my hands and he chuckled letting me go. I got up to leave but he held my wrist and I gave him a confused look.

"I'm letting you out of my lap, not out of this room. You have to sit here and talk to me" he said patting at the seat where I was sitting before.

"What do you wanna talk about?" I asked him in a bored tone and he smirked. He motioned me to sit and I did what he said coz he was still holding my hand so leaving wasn't an option.

"Why were you ignoring me in the class?" He asked me.

"Cause I felt like" I replied again in a bored tone. Amusement was clearly written on his face. I don't get what's so amusing ?
