Victor laughed at me like it was the most ridiculous thing he's heard all day. Well, I guess it really is. But I can't let him see that I could wet my pants any second.
In a flash, a blade disc flew from somewhere beyond the dark and hit Victor's cheek, stopping him from laughing. Dark, red blood flowed from the gash it created but the lacerate immediately reformed and disappeared, leaving Victor's skin fully healed.
Out of nowhere came three people wearing the same outfit as Jessy. They zipped past and appeared infront of us. One of them was a hooded guy taller than I am, two swords crossed behind his back. I couldn't see his face but he felt strangely familiar. With him was a man with white hair like a fictional anime character. The other was a woman shorter than Jessy-lean, tan, and caramel-haired. I noticed the crackling sparks on her fingers.
Victor's smile grew wider upon our company's arrival. "Now look who made it into the show!" He clapped his hands as if applauding a boyband auditionee. "You are just right on time, Jared Baldimore. It has been so long."
"I've had enough of your small talk Victor!" The hooded guy pulled the swords crossed on his back. "Let's get this over with."
Smirk widening, Victor and his team attacked, leaping in the air and pouncing on us. The hooded newcomer clashed sword against him, metal clanged against metal. The white-haired fellow hovered in the air, spiky things shoot out of his body, piercing through a number of vampires and froze them on contact. Miss Caramel jumped behind him, electricuting the frozen vampires with her high-voltaged electric hands.
Someone dragged me by the collar.
"If you don't plan on helping out, might as well stay down!" Jessy pushed me behind her, slamming my butt on the hood of the Tesla. "We need to get your ass off here. You'll do us more harm than good!"
"Yeah? As if I asked to be here in the first place!"
But Jessy had turned her back from me. She's back at being Super Miss Vampire Slayer, throwing daggers at vampires that gets anywhere near us.
Metal crunched, followed by a snarl behind me. I turned around. Too late to cry for help. The Tesla hovered in the air, lifted by a big blond vampire and threw it off the road.
Okay, pretty strong dude! Congrats!
I ran as he leaped, grabbing my shirt. He caught me and we both clashed againts the cold asphalt of the road. He thrashed his claws on my neck, choking me. The smell of blood suffocated me, the claws piercing through my skin.
"H-help!"
Heavy. Too heavy that I couldn't bear his weight against mine.
Struggling to break free, I grabbed his arm. Damn, he IS strong. With a grunt, I swung him sideways, the monster flung to my left where a bloody sword pinned on his chest. It exploded into a blue puddle. I turned around and saw Jessy rolling her eyes.
"What are you waiting for, Christmas Eve? Get up, bonehead!" she threw me a sword.
"I don't know how to use this!" I got up.
"Just swing it and hit something!"
"What happened to the gun?"
"Choosing weapons should be the least of your problems, Peter!"
I stepped back and bumped the anime character.
"Oh, hey we haven't officialy met!" he yelled at me. "Though I kinda know you already. I'm Blue by the way." He lend me his palm.
"Peter" I said and I shook it.
"Look out!"
Blue pulled me out of the way just as the street light collapsed near us, smashing three vampires behind us. Electricity crackled as the light broke off, puffing a grey cloud of smoke and showered the road with sparks.
"Sorry!" Miss Caramel gave us a peace sign and returned to toasting vampires.
"Blue, we need to get out of here, now!" Jessy yelled. "There's probably more of them coming."
"Oh, yeah right!" Blue replied and disappeared in a zip of cold air.
Jessy backed away to keep me from getting myself killed. I'll admit I felt flattered, in a way.
More vampires emerged out of almost every direction. Jessy slashed and threw daggers on them as I managed to hide behind her. (Pretty useful, right?)
We got pinned down, surrounded by five vampires. I thought it'd be the end but not all hope was lost after all. Like a cold sea wave, Blue emerged with Jessy's black convertible.
"Get your asses inside the car!"
Jessy dragged me and stuffed me inside the car like a bag of unnecessary groceries. Blue moved into the backseat and Jessy took the wheel. Miss Caramel ran towards us, chased by a few vampires.
"Get the guns!" Jessy ordered.
"What guns?"
"You really are crap, Peter!" She groaned frustratedly and pulled two guns from underneath the seats and threw one at Blue. How was I supposed to know it was there?
Jessy shouted, "Get down!"
Miss Caramel dove infront of us as Blue and Jessy fired shots at the vampires. I had to cover my ears. The monsters exploded into blue, steamy liquid when hit by the bullets. I opened the door and pulled Miss Caramel inside the car.
"Jared!" Jessy yelled to their other collegue still torn in the fight againts the Victor dude. Half-hidden in the dark, the hooded guy had been crushed to the ground by Victor who's blade were inches away from Jared's face.
"Get us near them." Miss Caramel said.
Jessy hit the car to life and headed for Jared. Miss Caramel sent a lightning shock that tossed Victor away. Blue created an ice wall between the two men.
"Jared, let's go!"
Jessy hit the brakes and swerved. The car circled as Jared hopped from the ground, landing right on top of the hood of the car. Jessy slammed the transmission, getting us out of the bloody place. From the rearview mirror, I saw Blue's ice shattering into bits and Victor standing still behind it.
"Why'd he stopped?" I asked, wondering why the man did not follow us.
Jessy glanced darkly at me. "Trust me, we'll see him again."
