How to write a love story

As I stepped off the plane and felt the warm breeze in my face, I knew this was going to be a fresh start. Hello Hello California. My first day of University was around the corner and I could not wait to make new friends. Oh, and meet the hot babes. Snap out of it Skylar. You’re a new woman now. New country. New studies. New you. Make a good impression. It didn’t take long to find the new campus. Just a few mile from the airport, and wow. It is HUGE. I instantly began to get nervous. My palms were sweating, my heart pounding. This is new. This is different. And I’m scared. Just as I was enclosed in my own thoughts I felt a pair of hands gently stroke my back. “Ahhhh get off me” I screamed. I mean hello? Who jumps out at you like that? “Woah woah Sky chill! It’s me” came the soft sweet voice from behind me. Oh. My. Gosh. “Natalie? No way!!! AHHHH you have no idea how much I’ve missed you” I screamed as I threw my arms around her. I was finally reunited with my best friend. “Missed me? Hon, you nearly crapped your pants!” She laughed at me. “Well obviously, you know not to sneak up on me like that” I said pouting at her. “Oh Sky, it’s been 7 years, you’re not a baby anymore” Natalie joked. I mean that is a fair point, but still!!!! “Oh my goodness, you’re studying English Language aren’t you!!!!! Ahhh you’re gonna be in my classes! Omg I need to show you our dorm, we’re gonna be roomies ahhhhhhhh”. This girl doesn’t take a break. “Woah, Nat, chill you’re going 100 miles an hour, breathe woman”. She mildly contained her excitement as she dragged me too our dorm. Wow. I have no words. The dorm is huge! Even the bathroom is nearly as big as my bedroom at home! This is going to take some getting used to. “Your rooms on the right, mines on the left. Make yourself comfortable, this is your home now”, she smiled “meet me back here in an hour, I’m taking you out to dinner and then I’m gonna show you around the campus” We ended up rushing dinner because she was so excited to show me around campus. And wow. I don’t blame her. The scenery is beautiful. The beautiful trees, the beautiful paintings, it just felt homely. I stared longingly at a beautiful painting of the campus when I felt a hard shove. “Ew move new person you’re in my way”. Who is this b***h? “Um how about no” I said eyeing her up. “Ugh do you even know who I am” came the whiny voice again. “Actually no I don’t, and I don’t care to knit either” I said back. Like who does this girl think she is? “Oh my gosh. This is a face you’re going to remember. I’m Jasmine. And I run this campus. Watch your step new girl. You don’t want to double cross me”. “Enough Jasmine leave her alone” said Natalie standing up for me. “Hey Nat don’t worry it’s fine, just by looking at her you can tell she’s all bark and no bite. She won’t don’t a thing”. “Oh that’s sweet you think that, you see me and my squad will make your life a living hell. No one steps in my way” Jasmine scoffed. Yeah, we’ll see Jasmine, she shouldn’t underestimate me. After our endearing conversation with miss “Mommy and Daddy pay my tuition” we had a look around the rest of campus and went out for drinks. We arrived at a quiet little bar just down the road. “Barkeep, I’ll have two of whatever you recommend” I shouted, because really I don’t care what it is as long as it contains alcohol. The bartender handed me two what looked like fruity drinks with two cute little umbrellas. I handed Nat her drink and we toasted to new beginnings. In the corner of my eye I saw the most handsome man I’ve ever seen. He had brown fluffy hair, gorgeous green eyes and the body of a god. See this is what I meant about hot babes. Thank you California. “Nat I’ll be right back, I’m just gonna use the bathroom” I told her but really I wanted to take a closer look at this dashing man. I subtly walked closer and closer till he caught me staring. Damn it Skylar. “Hi, can I help?” Said the husky voice. Oh my, this man. “I er- I was just going to get another drink” I said flustered. “Ah, please let me, I’m about to get another myself anyways” AHHH THIS FINE ASS MAN IS GOING TO GET ME A DRINK!!!! “That would be lovely thank you” I said barely containing my smile. We approached the bar and he handed me my drink. “I never got your name” I said. “It’s Aidan, Aidan Brooks” he told me. “Well hello Aidan it’s lovely to meet you, Im Skylar, Skylar Wells” I replied. We chatted for what seemed like hours when Nat came up behind me; “Nice toilet break Sky, I didn’t know it took an hour and a half to urinate” she teased, then she noticed Aidan, “oh never mind forget I said anything, I’m gonna take off, you enjoy your night, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” she said with a wink. “Yeah yeah, I won’t be long Nat, see you soon” I replied with a laugh. Aidan and I talked a bit more before I decided it was time for me to get home. “Hey before you leave beautiful can I get your number? I’d love to meet up again” he said. Is this man asking me out on a date? Ahhh my heart. “Of course, I’d love that” I said giddy as a school girl. We exchanged numbers and parted ways. What a first night.
