The Man with the Scar

680 Words
I didn’t know if I was drugged or what, but speaking felt impossible. Even thinking was a struggle. It felt like a spell had been cast over me. The only thing I knew was that the person standing in front of me was connected to me somehow. Then, I fainted. Everything turned dark. He vanished from my sight, and the world dissolved into a blur. No voices. No thoughts. No emotions. Just nothing. I woke up. I moved my hands. It felt soft. It was a big bed. As I moved, I heard a noise. Clink. My hands were in chains. “Where am I?” I whispered with a shaky breath, my voice very low. My vision was coming back. Dark wallpaper. Tall walls. Big doors. It felt like a dream, or maybe I was dead. This place didn't look like heaven. “Am I dead?” I whispered with fear, my voice breaking. I tried to touch my head. It hurt so much. “Ahh!” I cried out, my voice tight with sudden agony. I heard the door open. My chains made a loud noise as I moved. The door was huge. Suddenly, a shadow moved faster than a flash of light. Before I could blink, he was standing right in front of me. The room was so big, but he was so fast I could not even see him move. He was a very tall man. He looked like the man I saw before, but he was different. He had the same face, but a giant scar was on his forehead. He smelled like wet dirt after rain and burnt leather. He stared at me as if he were trying to figure something out. I tried to be brave. I fought against my fear. “Where am I? Who are you?” I asked, my voice trembling. He tilted his head and smiled a mean smile. It was just like the other man. “It looks like something new was added to the menu,” he whispered. I tried to pull away from him. “What... what do you mean?” My heart was beating so fast. My hands were sweaty. He climbed onto the bed. It was so big that five people could fit on it. His strong smell got thicker as he got closer to me. “Are you scared of me?” he asked with a dark grin. I did not know what to do. How could I run with my hands tied? I wanted to scream, but my voice felt broken. I felt so helpless. “What do you want from m—” “Heh.” He grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me close to him. “Your smell…” He put his nose against my neck. “You smell so delicious.” I could feel his ice-cold breath on my skin. “Let me go!” I cried out. I tried to push him away with my whole body. He barely moved. He was too strong. He let out a scary laugh. “I like it, princess.” Then, he stood up and vanished. I sat there, shocked. My head hurt so badly. I could not believe what I just saw. What was he? Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. The only thing I could find was a pillow. I held it tight. I knew a pillow could not save me, but it was better than nothing. An old lady walked in. She was holding a gold tray. She kept her head down and would not look at me. “My lady,” she said quietly. She put the tray down and left quickly. On the tray was a folded piece of paper. I opened it with shaking hands. It said: "I am waiting. Wear the clothes I chose for you. Do not even think of running. If you try to escape, I will find you, and I will break you. But if you obey me... life will be much easier for you, my love."
