Chapter Sixteen

Vanessa POV

Thirty minutes after Tyler left my room, Ryder came to my room. I really wanted to sleep but everyone kept disturbing my sleep and I still don't understand why Tyler called me Amelia. Amelia is my sister while I'm Vanessa.

" Ryder, go away" I told him immediately I felt his presence in my room.

" How do you know it's me?" He asked me after making himself comfortable on my bed.

" I have eyes at the back of my head, I thought you knew that" I rolled my eyes and sat up because I know it's was going to be a long talk.

" Oh... I totally forgot about it. Enough of the chit chat, I came here for something else." He suddenly became serious and I knew he really meant business.

" I expected that, since it's unusual for you to come to me in the middle of the night. So what's this about? I seriously need to sleep" I told him.

" I met Tyler at the door earlier on, with the look one his face I could tell that he didn't get what he wanted"

" Huh.. since when are you concerned about others except for Veronica?" 

" We are not talking about Veronica here, we are talking about you and Tyler. So can you tell me what really happened"

" Well, nothing happened"

" You can't tell me nothing happened because it's like you guys are walking on an egg shell when you are near each other and I still don't understand why you left his place in the first place"

" Seriously, nothing happened and I left because I wasn't needed there so I came to where I was needed"

" Okay, if you say so. Have you found your sister yet?" He asked since he was the only one who knew I already regained my memory completely. I would have told others but I don't trust anyone atleast until I find my sister, she may be in danger for whatsoever reason and I can't risk anything happening to her. I've been separated from her for nine years after the fake news of my death, I haven't seen her again.

" No, I haven't but I think I'll have to ask Tyler about it" I told him my thoughts

" Why will you ask Tyler about it? I thought you didn't trust anyone?" He asked me even though I felt he knew the reason I wanted to talk to Tyler

" Well, I figured if I was brought to their place immediately I was discharged from the hospital without question then there must have been someone who looked like me and was living with them before I came. So I need to ask him about it." I briefly explained myself to him, there were still other things I wanted to say but I thought it was better if I kept it to myself.

" Okay, seems like my work here is done then. I came to persuade you to hear Tyler out but it's seems like there was no need for me to be concerned about it" he replied, then was about to go when I stopped him

" We are done talking about me now so let's talk about you and Veronica." I asked since I was really dying to know how he feels about her.

" There's nothing to talk about, and I'm sure you know that better than anyone" he told me as he sat back on the bed.

" I know but I thought you developed some feelings for her because of your attitude her recently"

" I figured I needed to be nice to her since she helped you when you needed her help and she's also your friend" he replied nonchalantly. I really feel bad for the innocent girl 

" That's not very nice of you, you clearly know she likes you and with you acting all nice, you are giving her the wrong idea. I still don't understand what you don't like about her, it's not like you have someone yoi like or do you?" Thinking about it, I've never heard him talking about anyone he likes or is he gay?

" No, I don't have anyone I like" he replied too quickly and suspiciously.

" Wait, don't tell me you are gay"

" What! Why will you think that?" He replied immediately and with that I know he's definitely not gay.

" Well, since you rarely talk about girls I could only conclude that you like boys"

" Now you know I'm not gay so don't go around saying nonsense"

" Since you don't want to say anything about your unknown crush, care to tell me why you call me Mia when you know I'm not Amelia" I asked him because I know he's the reason Tyler calls me Amelia and the confirmation that he has indeed seen my sister, he shouldn't believe I'm Amelia unless he knows the both of us.

" You look like Amelia" he said in a low voice but I still heard what he said.

" Duh... We are identical so it's only natural that I look like her" I told him as a matter of fact. But then something suddenly came into my head.

" Don't tell me your unknown crush is Amelia, she's not the one right?" He averted his gaze away from me as if he was caught red-handed doing something wrong. I should thought about it earlier but not my fault since I lost my memory.

" I seriously can't believe you have a crush on my sister. It's really unbelievable"

" This is one of the reasons I didn't want you to know about it, can you not please tell her about it if you find her. If at all, I want her to know then I should be the one telling her" he pleaded with me, as much as I wanted him to be together with Veronica, I still think it's better if I respect his wish.

" I don't have a reason to tell her. After all, you are not her type of guy so it will only make everyone uncomfortable if I tell her about your feelings"

" What do you mean by saying I'm not her type of guy?"

" My sister has always liked Noah, I don't know about the present but judging from Noah's reaction when we met I can only conclude that the relationship between them isn't very good so she might have gotten over him" I explained to him.

" Oh.. I've seen your sister at school. I saw her after you left, I just felt you needed to know and it will be better if you talk to Tyler, he will help you out. Goodnight" I could tell that he was not too happy with my response but I know he will be back to himself by morning time. I'm really happy, atleast I know where to find my sister.

It's also seem like my talk with Tyler can't be avoided.
