Forgotten

Vanessa POV I was surprised to see myself wake up without my alarm ringing, "maybe i woke up earlier than when my was supposed to go off" i thought to myself. Reaching to my bed to pick up my phone i noticed something was off, this place doesn't seem like my room. Was i kidn*pped? Different thoughts ran through my mind. Looking around i noticed a girl lying down on the couch, who is she? What is she looking for? Why was she in the room with me? I attempted to stand up but felt pain in my wrist. i guessed i screamed since the sleeping girl was now awake. It was then i noticed i was in a hospital. What was i doing here? Since when have i been here? I asked myself. The girl who woke up came to me, she looked happy or maybe not cuz she started crying a little while later. "Are you okay? why are you crying? Are you hurt?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiled again. I was confused, what is with her mood swings i mean this minute she's happy the next she's crying and thereafter she's happy again. "Vanessa, I'm glad you are awake" She said, not answering my questions. I looked around, there was nobody in the room with us so who is the Vanessa she's taking about. "Sorry, but are you talking about me?" I asked. She looked shocked at first but covered it up with a smile. "Yes, you've been in coma for three months now. I'm just happy you are awake" She replied. I was about to say something but she beat me to it. "I should probably go and get the doctor to check on you" She said before reaching for the door and went out. I've been here for three months, what happened to me? Why can't i remember anything? Who is that girl? While i was busy drowning in my thoughts, the girl who left earlier on came back with the doctor. The doctor did a checkup on me and said i was okay and i should be discharged probably the next day, that is if nothing went wrong. Once the doctor left the room, i called out to the girl. "Excuse me" since i didn't know here name, she came over to my side. "What's your name? " "Oh, sorry i was too happy i forgot to introduce myself. I'm Victoria" She replied "Okay, but i can't seem to remember anything so i hope you are not offended?" I asked her "No, its okay. We are not close in anyway, my sister asked me to stay with you." What was she saying, we don't know each other and she has been staying here for i don't know how long just because her sister said so. "Who is your sister and why did she ask you to stay with me?" "My sister is Veronica, she was here with you till a week ago. She had exams to she asked me to stay instead" she replied. We chatted for a little while, i noticed i was becoming hungry so i told her i needed to eat, she went outside and came back a later with a bowl of porridge, i thanked her and ate the porridge. She took my plate and went out again. I stood up to use the bathroom, when i came back to the room i saw that she wasn't back to the room. Since i was getting tired anyway i went back to the bed and slept off. Victoria POV I came back to the room and saw that she was fast asleep. I quickly took out my phone and called my sister. "Hello" " Vanessa is awake" "She woke up not long ago" "No, she's sleeping now" "Okay, make sure you get here in time". With that i hung up the phone, i wasn't in anyway close to Vanessa but i always admired her. I kept thinking how she would cope now that she was suffering form amnesia. My thoughts was interrupted when i heard my phone buzz, checking it i saw a message from Veronica. "I'm in the hospital, come out and meet me." I left the room quickly making sure i didn't wake her up. "Is she still asleep?" Veronica asked me. I nodded my head Did she say anything to you when she woke up?" She asked again "No, but the doctor said she can't remember anything for now" "What do you mean she can't remember anything?" She started to panic. "If she can't remember anything then that means trouble, her family mustn't even know she was involved in an accident not to talk of her not remembering anything. "Veronica, calm down" I tried to calm her down. "What do you mean by her family mustn't know about her accident?" "It's a long story, but for now let's go and see if she's awake" We made our way back to the room and saw that she was still peacefully sleeping. I remembered i haven't had anything to eat since morning so i told my sister i was going to grab something to eat. Veronica POV Victoria left to find what she will eat. I stayed behind in the room just in case Vanessa wakes up and needed something. Half an hour later, she screamed in her sleep i rushed to her to find out what was happening to her, she was sweating profusely and once she opened her eyes. She was pleading and crying. "Please don't hurt me, i won't tell anyone about it please" She kept on saying things. I tried calming her down but it wasn't working, i rushed out to call the doctor. Few minutes later the doctor was able to calm her "Doctor, is she okay?" I asked the doctor "She is fine, I just think she's having a nightmare which was part of her memory before the accident" What could have happened to her in the past that made her like this ? I asked myself. "For now, refrain her from any strenuous activities and any form of shock" the doctor said and went away. "Veronica, is that you?" I heard Vanessa call out my name. Did she remember me? "Yes, its me" "Why did you leave me alone?" She asked and fell asleep again And what did she mean by that?  This is my first time publishing my story on dreame.  as a kid I've always loved to read and write. I will be glad if you guys will not criticize my story.  You guys are also free to voice out your opinions and ask questions. Thank you
