Chapter Eighteen

Tyler's POV

I was surprised when Noah told me Amelia came to ask after me. I thought she didn't want to talk to me so it's a little bit shocking and surprising that she wants to talk to me.

Since I didn't have her number, I couldn't contact her and Noah refused to give me her number. Vanessa and I have suddenly developed a closer bond, so we get along well and she hangs out with my other friends.

After I got home, I saw my mom and explained what happened to her. She told me to give her time and space that she was going to come around but what I still don't understand is why Jackson said she's Vanessa and not Amelia. I still haven't asked Ryder about it.

I did my homework and other stuffs after I had gathered my thoughts. Surprisedly enough Vanessa helped out with my calculus homework, she's really good at it and physics and from what I know Amelia is also good at calculus, chemistry but she hates English language and literature. Physics isn't even her subject, even though they were identical they were still opposite of each other.

An unknown number suddenly called me, I wasn't sure if I should pick up the call or not. After contemplating for few seconds I picked up the call

" Hello, I'm sorry if I disturbed you but please am I speaking to Tyler?" A voice which I recognize to be Amelia's spoke from the other side of the phone.

" Yeah, sorry but how can I help you?" I decided to play dumb like I didn't know she was the one.

" I'm Vanessa, I wanted to ask if you had time so we could meet up and chat" okay now, why did she introduce herself as Vanessa instead of Amelia or was Jackson really right?

" Yeah, when do you want to meet?" I really want all misunderstandings to be cleared as soon as possible.

" I was thinking next weekend, but that's if you are free. If not we can just schedule another meeting time" she told me after some seconds of silence.

" Okay, I'll let you know if I'll be free by then. I can call you anytime right?" I asked her

" Sure, why not? Do you know about..... You know what? I'll just ask you when I see you, I think it's better if we talk face-to-face"

" Okay dear, no problem. I'll let you know how it will be. Take care of yourself"

" You too, take care of yourself and my regards to your friends and my s..." I couldn't understand what she said at the end of her sentence. She dropped the call after her statement.

I quickly saved her contact and if I must say, I'm really excited. Finally, I get to call her anytime I want to and I will even get to see her and talk to her. I may be childish but I'm really happy.

Vanessa POV

After giving it a lot of thoughts, I called Tyler and scheduled a meeting with him. I almost had a slip of tongue when I mentioned my sister but thank God I really came back to reality and dropped the call immediately.

I really hope he will be free by the next weekend, I want to talk to him about my sister. I seriously want to see my sister it's been nine years since I last saw her. I'm not even sure she still remembers me and I wish to find our Dad.

Although I don't know anything about him, I believe there will be someone that knows about him. I have a series of questions for him, does he not know about us or did he choose to abandon us? If he abandoned us, why did he do that? I have lots and lots to ask him. But before every other thing, I have to find him.

Veronica's dad came home today, he hasn't been around since I came into the house and I must say he was very very shocked to see me. I can't blame him though, it was rumoured that I died in the car accident with his wife so seeing me was like he was seeing a ghost. He left hurriedly afterwards, I need to talk to him but he needs some space to organize his thoughts before I approach him.

Laying down on my bed, I started thinking about random things like what to say to Veronica's dad if I eventually get to speak with him and also my biological father if I ever met him, will I forgive him if he didn't know about us or left us for a reason? How will Amelia reacts when she sees me? Will Ryder confess his feelings to her? I'm still surprised though but I guess I should have seen him through back then when he started calling me Amelia. If he's unable to tell her, I won't blame him because the Amelia I know is very difficult to approach and understand. I sometimes feel her friends are doing a lot of work tolerating her, she has a bad temper, gets angry over little things and she tends to say hurtful things when she's angry but finds it difficult to apologize when she sees her wrong but once you get to know her, she's a very good and nice girl. I don't know if she's still like that though.

I received a notification from my phone and when I checked it I saw it was a message from Noah

Noah: Hey, what's up girl?

Vanessa: I'm okay, how bout you?

Noah: I'm fine, just wanted to check up on you. Do you miss me?"

Vanessa: Lol... I don't but it seems like you miss me"

Noah: Well, I'll admit that I do but that's only because I didn't get to hear your complete story. So when next are we meeting up?"

Vanessa: I don't really know, how about you tell me when you will be free

Noah: Let's meet on Friday after school. Is it okay with you?

Vanessa: Okay with me. I'll chat you later. I have homework to do.

After our little chat, I quickly brought out my chemistry and calculus note from my bag and did my assignment.

Veronica and Victoria came home shortly after I finished my homework. I wonder where they were in the first place but again we were not really close to the extent of them telling me where they were going. It's really funny how relationship between people just change and lest I forget, Veronica still doesn't know I'm her supposedly dead adopted sister. She doesn't even know what I look like whether now or in the past, I just wish she does her surgery and recover.

I was called down for dinner not long after, Veronica's dad wasn't at the table with us. He went out for an urgent business and I was happy since I'm not okay with his weird stares.
