Chapter Ten

Noah POV

Although I don't really understand why Vanessa suddenly became nice to me, I was still careful around her. You know she could lose it any time, it's as if she's two different person. I was also shocked to find out that she was Tyler's sister, I knew Tyler had an adopted sister but I never thought it would be Vanessa.

It sounds crazy to know that my worst nightmare was my best friend's sister. I just hope the peaceful days doesn't end anytime soon.

Tyler's POV

It's been three weeks since I last talked to Vanessa, I didn't really mean to ignore her but I was just really confused, she clearly lost her memory but she denied losing it or probably she faked it from the beginning.

"Flashback"

"Vanessa, I need to talk to you" and when she showed no sign on following me, I practically dragged her out with me. Since it was lunch time, there were empty classrooms. I pulled her into one of the classrooms with me.

"I'm sure you dragged me here cuz you wanted to talk not to just look at me"

Her voice pulled me out of my daze and trust me with that little talk I knew this was the Vanessa before her so called accident.

"Yeah, but Vanessa what was all that about? I thought you lost your memory so what happened? Not that I'm not happy now that you've recovered but still you promised to tell me if you regained your memory."

" Seriously? Did you just say I lost my memory or is that what you want to happen? You just see your sister after three months and what you say next is asking me if I regained my memory. " She said with a laugh I'm not sure I should call a laugh.

" Well, sorry to disappoint you dear brother but I didn't lose my memory like you expected not to talk of regaining it. So if you are done, I'll like to go back, I was busy before you 'dragged' me out here. She said emphazing on the 'dragged'.

Just before I could get to talk she was already out.

"End of flashback"

As confused as I was, I didn't know what to do. She hasn't bothered me or my friends since then, not that I was complaining it just felt weird. I mean we weren't close before then after her supposed accident we suddenly became very close like best of friends and after some days we are back to being strangers.

I just needed someone to talk to, my mom's not around. I know what you are thinking no matter how tough I try to act I'm still a momma's boy.

A knock on my door brought me back to reality.

"Who is it?" I asked before going to open the door, I can't take risk

" It's Ryder." The voice at the other side of the door answered.

I remembered Ryder's one of Vanessa's friends so maybe talking to him will help a little, I wasn't really hoping on getting anything out of him but you know it doesn't hurt to ask. I opened the door and asked to come in.

"Hi, is Vanessa in? I haven't seen her for quite sometime now and I didn't see her in school today. I was wondering if she was okay since she's not answering my calls."

We are sitted now in case you are wondering and thanks to him going straight to the point it wasn't awkward. Although he's a part of our group I rarely talk to him so it would have been awkward if he didn't say anything cuz as much as I have a lot to ask him I don't know how to just get started.

" She's not in and what do you mean you didn't see her in school today?" I answered well more like asked.

" She hasn't been in school for three weeks now, after her confrontation with Noah "

Now it's confusing, you want to know why I saw Vanessa today and I'm sure our friends also saw her including him. And one thing about Vanessa is that no matter how bad she is, she doesn't skip school even when she's sick.

"I think you are mistaken cuz she was definitely in school today and I'm sure you saw her."

" Yeah, I saw Vanessa but I'm asking about your sister the one who lost her memory."

" Are you kidding me right now? Cuz the last time I checked both the Vanessa you saw and the one you are looking for are the same person."

"No, they are different. The Vanessa you saw today was Mia's sister and I'm asking after Mia"

I was about asking who Mia is when I remembered that's how he calls Vanessa.

"Okay, so you are telling me now that the Vanessa here is the sister of the Vanessa who lost her memory, right?" I asked him

Just as he was about to answer me, his phone suddenly rang.

"Sorry but I have to pick up the call and go" he said as he picked the call and walked towards the door. He opened the door to go and nodded at me while I nodded back.

Well thanks to Ryder, my questions were answered but I became more confused. Like who the hell gives their identical children the same name? I just realized I didn't know anything about Vanessa's family.

As if on cue, my mom walked in to the house.

"Welcome Mom" I greeted her

"Ryder, how are you and how was school?" She asked as she dropped her back on the sofa and sat down to remove her shoe.

"School is the same and I'm fine" I could tell she was tired.

Just as I wanted to leave the living room, my mom suddenly opened her mouth to say something so I just waited

"Vanessa apparently has a twin"

" What?" I just got to know she had a sister which I'm still not sure about and now my mom is telling me she has a twin.

"Your aunt called me and told me that her sister went missing three months ago, around the time Vanessa had the accident.

Talking about her, where's she?"

Okay, let's get something straight Vanessa has a twin who is a girl and she went missing around the time Vanessa was involved in an accident and three months later which is the present, a girl showed up saying she lost her memory after she was involved in an accident. And few days later she showed up again saying she didn't lose her memory. It can only mean one thing, Vanessa wasn't the one who was involved in the accident but her twin sister and Vanessa is the who appeared a few days later. Ryder was right after all.
