Venny POV:
“Alright guys, your first game is tomorrow. How are y’all feeling?” Coach Jeter asks us while we all sit in the locker room in silence.
“Who the f**k died?” He asks us as we try to compose ourselves. Were all a bit nervous about our first game at the University of Texas, and you can feel it in the air.
“I asked how you guys are feeling but I guess you don’t even need to tell me. All of you are so nervous I can smell you wet farts from across the field today.” As he says this people start laughing hysterically. I’m assuming that was the coach’s way to break the tension and it worked.
“It’s okay to be nervous, but it’s never okay to let those nerves get in the way of you Killing it on that field. Trust me. After the first game or two, your nerves are going to fade, and thank f**k for that, because y’all are seriously gassing me out with your rancid farts.”
We laugh as he roasts the whole team.
“Hey, coach?” Jonah asks as coach Jeter was about to leave.
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for the laughs. We needed that.”
Coach smirks and nods.
“Get your diapers changed boys, it’s time for practice!”
I quickly get to my backpack and pop in two pain pills. I made an appointment with the doctor, and I’m supposed to see him next week.
We head out for practice and everyone seems to be in a much better mood, and all of us play well, but I couldn’t help but notice the way Jonah keep looking at me as we played. Like he was undressing me with his eyes. Yikes.
Don’t get me wrong Jonah is good-looking. But he’s not Levi. Just thinking of Levi makes me smile.
"Alright Evan. You're lower body is not stable enough, so there is no way you are going to hit that ball at high speed. Remember boys, getting contact with the ball is not the most important thing while practicing. While we are practicing I want y'all to perfect your swing, that means having maximum movement in the parts of your bodies that need it and having maximum stability in the parts of your bodies that need it. One more try Evan." Coach Jeter says and Evan nods more focused than before as coach gets back in position and throws the ball.
Evan hits the ball perfectly and we chear him on.
After practice, we all take a shower and as I’m redressing Jonah sits next to me as I slip my shoes on.
“I saw you smiling today. What were you thinking of?” He asks me and with a smile I tell him, “my boyfriend.”
“Ah, right. Levi right?” He says slightly disappointed.
“That’s right.”
He sighs.
“Well, he’s a lucky bastard.”
I shake my head with a chuckle. He has no idea the amount of s**t Levi has done for me because he loves me.
“I’m the lucky bastard,” I tell him and he nods.
“I um... I’m gay too, but the team doesn’t know. Hell... The only person who did know died last year. He was the love of my life. And well, you kinda remind me of him.”
He admits and it all starts to make sense. I honestly don’t know what I would do if I lost Levi.
“I’m so sorry for your loss Jonah. Thanks for telling me. I hope you find new love. You know I heard this school had a gay club. You should join it.”
Jonah laughs.
“A gay club? Are you talking about an organization or like a strip club or something, because I could definitely go for strip club.”
I chuckle and shake my head.
“No, it’s not that kind of club. Although there is a nice gay club here in Austin.” I tell him and he hums and he squints his eyes at me.
“But you haven’t been to it, have you Venny?”
I shake my head.
“No. I haven’t... Yet. Levi’s birthday is coming up next month. Maybe I’ll take him and you can tag along.”
He nods thoughtfully.
“Yeah. I’ll have to find a date by then. Wish me luck.” He says as he slides me a piece of paper with his number on it.
I put his number into my phone and discard the paper.
I’ve done nothing wrong... but why do I feel guilty? I know Jonah got the hint, and he even said he would bring his own date, but something about jonah makes me wonder. What is up that guy’s sleeve?
Eh, maybe it’s just the Taurus is me not trusting anyone who isn’t the people I love.
One of the players from the varsity Longhorn team walks in and gives me a short southern hello. The one where you tip your head downwards as if you were wearing a hat. Then I realized who it is and my mouth drops a bit.
“You’re Noah Damon. It’s nice to meet you, I’m...”
“Venny Romano. I know who you are. Coach Jeter won’t stop talking about you.” He says as he puts his hand out for me to shake. I blink surprised. Noah is one of the best players in the Longhorns and he’s made it clear he plans on playing for the major leagues.
“Wow. I didn’t realize he talks about me.”
Noah laughs.
“Coach practically adopted you. I can’t wait to see the new junior varsity team play tomorrow. Make the Longhorns proud.” He says with a shoulder smack as he walks away towards the showers.
Shit! I’m late for class! I think as I come out of my daze and run towards my computer class.

Levi POV:
Sitting in English class I try to take notes as my stomach becomes a war zone with the breakfast burrito I ate this morning. It grumbles as the food makes its way down the chambers, coming in hot.
“May I use the restroom?” I ask interrupting the teacher through a lecture. I had no choice.
“Yes, but come back quickly.”
I get up fast and head out the door. Then I run into Venny who is bolting like he just stole some gold. As we collide I hold on to him so he doesn’t fall.
“Woah. Venny what’s wrong? Is someone chasing you? I swear if...”
“No, I’m just late to class, and I can’t afford to be late.” He says stressed out. Since he has a scholarship he needs to maintain it by being punctual, having great grades, and being a perfect student. It’s a lot of pressure.
“Don’t worry. I’m sure if you sneak in quietly your teacher won’t even notice. Now I wish I could talk more but the damn burrito I ate this morning is about to unleash its wrath.”
I kiss his head before running towards the bathroom.
After taking the rankest s**t ever. I get a text from mom.
Mom: [Your birthday is coming up next month. I want to come to visit you in Austin, and we can dinner or something. :)]
Levi: [As long as that dinner doesn’t include burritos I’m down.]
Mom: [What? But you love burritos.]
Levi: [but burritos don’t love me.] Clearly. I think as I put my phone down and dry off my hands.
