Venny POV:
Coach Jeter hypes up the team’s excitement and encouragement. As people make their way to the game. Were all sitting in the locker room, and out of nowhere, I feel two hands cover my face.
“Guess who?” He whispers in my ear as if it isn’t obvious I stand up, hop over the bench and hug Levi.
“How the heck did you get in here?” I ask him and he winks.
“I have my ways.” With a warm smile, I place a soft kiss on his lips, and he sighs blissfully, before kissing me back.
“So, you’re the famous Levi.” I hear Jonah say from beside us. I pull away from Levi to introduce them.
“Levi, this is Jonah, Jonah, Levi,” I say with a slight blush and he nods before shaking his hand.
“Nice to meet the guy that is always making this one smile,” Jonah tells him and Levi looks at me surprised.
“You talk about me to your team?”
I nod as my blush gets redder.
“Of course I do, can you blame me?” I tell him and now it’s his turn to blush. He looks into my eyes in a way that touches my soul. No one else will ever have that effect on me.
“Well if you two are done being the cutest gay couple on campus, I need to steal your guy away Levi,” Jonah says patting my back.
“I’ll see you after the game,” I tell him and with a smirk, he kisses me passionately and I wish it would last longer, but he pulls away and whispers.
“That’s for good luck. Not that you need it.” Then he’s gone.
And the anxiety starts to set in. All I have to do is re-play all those times Levi would help me practice and cheer me on. I do that all the time. I just picture Levi as the pitcher and it eases my nerves.
“Let’s go Longhorns! Let’s go!” The team cheers with the hands making the bull symbol, as we all make our way to the huge field. And the cheers from all around us become louder. The ball game song starts to play and it makes me happy.
I will never get used to how amazing American sport fans are when they are united, all chanting for our university, and all looking like they are having the time of their lives. This is my happy place, and Levi sits nearby in VIP smiling in my direction.
I can hear the blood pumping in my ears my, palms getting sweaty. I’m nervous but excited.
“Alright, Venny. You will be the third to bat, got that?” Coach asks as he makes sure everyone knows their parts.
“Got it.”

Levi:
I pull my phone out and with a wrap-around tripod I set it up on the fence. Mom told me she wanted me to record the who game and send it to her, and to Venny’s mom since they can’t be here. It’s a shame really.
But at least with the tripod, I don’t have to pay attention to the phone, all of my attention is on the hotshot player who stole my heart.
The game begins. Texas Longhorns Vs the Houston Cougars. The Longhorns take the field first. Venny positions himself at third base.
The Cougar's first player hits the ball plenty far. In the outfield number 5 retrieves the ball and from so far away he throws it to Venny who catches it effortlessly and steps on the third base before the other guy even had a chance.
“Woooo!” I yell along with people around me.
The next player actually hits a home run surprising everyone and the opposing team cheers in victory. Oh Cougars, don’t get too excited.
The next player strikes out and the last player hits the ball but doesn't make it past second base. The teams switch sides and this is where the real excitement begins. Up to bat first is Jonah. The guy I met earlier. He seemed cool enough, but I didn’t like how he keeps looking at my man.
Jonah misses the first two hits, but then his the ball on the last throw, and makes it to first base before the cougars retrieve the ball quickly.
The next guy who bats strikes out then it’s Venny’s turn. After tonight I’m sure Venny is going to get mad respect in the baseball world. Surprisingly people seem to know who he is as they cheer his name. It’s probably because of that video coach Jeter published of Venny practicing in high school.
“Let’s go Venny!” I yell and he smirks at me before getting into position.
The pitcher throws the ball and he misses the first one.
“You’ve got this baby,” I say to myself as the pitcher throws the second ball and Venny looks mad focused as he hits the ball nearly out of the park. And runs around the bases as everyone yells in victory and I yell his name over the sound of the crowd.
He does his home run and inside the pit, the team practically attacks him with fist bumps and high fives.
The next batter, I think his name is Evan, hits the ball far out as well. Not as far as Venny’s but still very impressive! He just barely makes it back to home base but when he does the crowd cheers again. And the whole team looks like they’re on cloud nine.
“Let’s go Longhorns, let’s go!”
The game ends with the junior varsity Longhorns having 14 more points than the Cougars.
As I’m about to leave I get a text on my phone, and I’m surprised it’s from Venny’s mom Bella
Bella: [Hey, I’ve got a surprise for my son.]

Venny POV:
The crowd continues to go wild as the team heads for the locker room. From behind me, I hear my name being call and I turn to see Levi run towards me and smash his lips against me in a feverish way, and his arms lift me off the ground a few inches. I nearly melt into this hot kiss and forget where I am. My arms wrap around his neck as I kiss him deeper.
“I’m so f*****g proud of you.” He whispers against my lips before kissing me again then I hear someone clear their throat behind me, followed but a shoulder tap.
I turn around and my mouth drops at the sight in front of me. Both my mom and my sister stood there looking giddy.
“Mom, Ester!” I pull them in for a group hug, and they hug me back strongly.
“My baby boy! Mama is so proud of you!”
“I’m proud of you to Venny.” My sister adds and I cover my blush.
“I can’t believe you two came. I didn’t think...”
“We wanted to surprise you! We drove here this morning and got a hotel for one night, so we can all go for a celebratory dinner.”
I smile at mom and nod.
“Sounds great mom. Thank you.”
Levi hugs my mom and sister as well and we all agree on a time a place for dinner.
Oh yeah. Today is a great day.
