I run as fast as I can away from Hadley’s house. I need to get away before I change my mind and go back into her room and demand that she choose me right now. I know I can’t do that to her, but seeing her run into Reid’s arms the way she just did, hurt worse than I thought possible. I told her I understood, but I’m in love with that girl, so how could I just sit by while someone else wraps his arms around her the way I want to? Even if that guy happens to be my dead brother.
I stop running as soon as I reach my house, dig my keys out of my pocket and get in my car. My house isn’t far enough away.
