The Chaos of a World of stats

4 The world turns

It has been a rough couple of days, since passing out my family have been keeping a closer eye on me to make sure I do not pass out, but things are quite stressful due to that. It is kind of annoying to know they are always watching me even when I am trying to train up my stamina.

-----Mr. White's Perspective-----

These last three days have been very interesting and informative, I now have the ability to not only feel magical energies, but I am starting to be able to control the energy while meditating and soon I will attempt to cast my first spell once I meet up with Gerald once again. I got 'Magic Detection' from Daniel after I saw him using it, but instead of using my eyes I can hear it like different cords in music, or like shifts in tone of voice when people become emotional.

"Do you think that how we feel magic changes with each person?"

I ask myself before using 'Advanced Meditation' to increase my mana and increase my stamina as I was going to head off to meet with Gerald. I took roughly half an hour before stopping and heading to my kitchen to make a sandwich, moving quickly between cleaning and cooking.

-----Elsewhere-----

"What do you mean my son is level two?"

An older man says scowling as his current wife states calmly yet annoyed.

"You said yourself that he likely has a higher aptitude, so clearly it is very likely he would already be able to surpass you so soon, let alone the fact you have yet to deal with your own anger."

The older man simply sighs before heading to his workout room, calling back.

"Whatever! Once this final skill levels I will be right there behind him, and they will finally have to let me join the government as a soldier, and maybe we can move up out of our current debt."

-----In the testing facilities-----

"Sir we have two incoming retests, once is a young man who has recently awakened to level two and the other is an older man who is the father of the young man, as well as has been independently working on physical skills to complete his goal."

A lieutenant says to the General in charge as they both look over their papers to decide who will be tested first. The General smiles softly seeing that the young man named Daniel wishes for all close family outside of his father and step-mother to know about the results as well as himself while the father did not care at all.

"Well it seems the son has a much higher aptitude, so he will be second so our tester may have her fun."

The General says smiling softly as the Colonel who administrates the test walks in, among her own insistence to give the tests instead of a lieutenant would normally in many other government buildings focused on the army and maintaining the chaos of civilian levels and aptitude. A person had to have at least a General Aptitude of 7 to even have the possibility to level up once, let alone more than that within one life.

-----One Week Later, Daniel's Perspective-----

I woke up and got dressed as normal, throwing on my favorite blue button up shirt as well as my favorite black and grey hoodie. I smiled softly as I saw my blue eyes glow in the mirror while I continued to use 'Magic Detection (Visual)' to hopefully unlock a new level or evolution to my new skills while beginning to also gather the necessary calmness to not freak out.

I quickly grabbed my bag and tossed it over my shoulders as I grabbed my scooter and set it down on the street, activating my 'Energy Control' skill in a moment to push off with extra power, quickly burning down my current tires as

I ride down multiple blocks in moments, hopping onto the sidewalk as I pass a couple cars starting to back out of their driveways. I had Evolved my 'Ride (Scooter)' skill to 'Advanced Ride Control (Scooter)' and it was currently close to maxing out already as high speeds and minor tricks quickly gave me EXP as I rode down past Highway 111 and down towards the reworked empty lot a little ways past Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

-----One Week Later, Father's Perspective-----

He woke up and put on one of his suits picked out by his wife, she had a much better taste in fashion than he did, and was part of the reason why he had chosen to marry her while they had many disagreements about how he should have raised his only son, she did not go against him as she was only the son's step-mother.

"Thank you again, as usual you have a fantastic fashion sense dear."

"You're welcome, and I'm glad you like it."

She says calmly and respectfully while also finishing picking out her own outfit, she knew should have to wait in the main lobby and would rather not have to be in an uncomfortable dress.

It took both of them a total of 30 minutes to get dressed and gather their things as they walked out of their home to their shared car, the father, Thoany, took the driver's seat and the step-mother, Kanish took the passenger seat. While they both had made the 'Drive' skill, Thoany had been using it slightly longer than Kanish had been, and Kanish had a slightly physical neural disconnect with her left hand.

"So are you excited to see your son today?"

"Not really, I told him he had to work hard to move forward and here he is barely coasting it and will be peaking here soon if he still believes that everything will just come to him."

"But it seems he has also increased how quickly he is learning at the very least, he may even have unlocked the Evolve skill that you recently unlocked that runs in your family."

They spoke slowly but intelligently about how Daniel got so far, and how he may be peaking and unable to move any farther on his own while Thoany had to work harder than most people to even learn new mental based skills, while being able to quickly increase physical based skills and manipulation based skills, though he only has one at the moment, and did not plan on growing it any further than it is.

-----Arrival and Testing-----

Upon arriving at the testing facility with the Colonel, the General smiled softly and pinned on his name tag, 2nd Gen. Nelvin, he was one of the top 10 Generals, the second strongest General and Second in line to become Commander were something to happen to the current Commander, who was a currently able to take on both himself and Weish the First General.

"Colonel, how do you plan to deal with the familial issue between your two current test takers?"

He would ask while the Colonel changed out of her dress into a more suitable outfit for the test and pinned her nametag on, 4th Col. Emily.

"I will have them face one another only after each other's test, that way we get the best emotional results for the possibility of someone other than the commander who can actively cast spells."

She answers smiling softly as she was now wearing a white lab coat with a black t-shirt under, and jeans, her eyes green due to her contacts as she walked into the testing facility as Thoany walked in, ready for his test to begin.

-----After the first test-----

Thoany walked out smugly as he had been accepted and deemed worthy of being considered the 54th confirmed level 2.

"Well that was quite easy, so shall we see what my son can do and if he is still so lazy."

He said to his wife smirking softly as she sighed and began to gather their things as Daniel began to walk in at the far end, his glowing eyes going from wide and enjoying the sights to sharpened and annoyed as he looked over his father and step-mother who effectively kicked him out because they refused to actually talk with him and come to an agreement.

"So have you gotten this far by being lazy and relying on your innate skill learning?"

Thoany asked smiling softly at his son just before suddenly being thrown back against the far wall while being yelled at, he didn't even know what happened but suddenly felt like he had been doing everything wrong.
