2 Realizations

Once I clocked out of work I began to gather my backpack, my extra battery pack, my phone, my headset, my scooter, and my drink.

"I hope you guys have a great day!"

I call out as I walk out the door to a small chorus of thanks and you to's as I begin to head home thinking about the odd display after the attempted robbery and giving my perspective over what had happened before texting my girlfriend about what happened and thinking about how magic could be possible and how to tap into that line of abilities unintentionally creating a new skill for myself, 'Magic theory'.

-----Mr. White's Perspective-----

I had no idea today I would start to learn how to do magic today, let alone that I would see magic be cast for the first time outside of myth or legend. Hell, who knew magic was actually possible, let alone available to be accessed directly through anyone's emotional state, as long as it was powerful enough.

After we had left Old Town Coffee Company, we had to close for the day early, the retired officer, Gerald, and I traded numbers so we could meet up under the radar to slowly understand Gerald's ability to cast 'Hold Creature' on both people and animals, but it does not work on inanimate objects such as balls, baseball bats, and animatronics.

"So how do we get this going? You did it through sheer will, but it also seems to be connected to emotional states and the wants of the moment at casting, though only once learned and what those spells can be cast on."

"I believe once you have the first connection to a spell of any form or reason whether cast out of want or necessity."

"So bring out a deep connection out of want or need to be able to cast a spell for the first time to be able to see the spell's effect(s) and/or abilities?"

"Yes, I believe so, and I think while he may make a scene about it, that it may be good to teach him the basics, he seems... capable of helping our understanding once we have the basics down, so maybe in a couple of months or maybe a year into our study for magic."

"I think that would be best, he... is an open book that constantly goes off even when not being read, he would be able to greatly help us from how quickly he picks things up and understands them, but we do need to have our own understanding to be able to keep him quiet less out of need, and more out of his want to talk about what is new."

It took about a total of 3 hours between knocking out my normal things and texting Gerald to finally get everything together so that we could start our study sessions on his magic spell. We began to start the testing after about a week, but Daniel seems to be starting to looking into some... rather close things about the basics we are going after, it seems he is doing his own studying but I also don't want to have to ask him to stop. Gerald and I, are a bit further along than he is, if only about the connection, but that could be because he is a sociopath so maybe he will not make the connection soon, but once he does he will be able to completely pass us over faster than we could ever keep up with.

"So Daniel is right behind us in theory and practice, yet he has not made the connection between emotional states, willpower, and casting spells."

-----Daniel's Perspective-----

Upon seeing my new skill 'Magic Theory' I quickly began to think about how I could access it once I got home, it seemed to appear once I thought about how the magic casted by the retired officer was out of want to stop the thief and how it drained the retired officer's stamina. I wonder if it takes a lot of stamina, or if it is because of sheer willpower that he casted the spell or if a spell can be cast through some other connection like elements or if there is some kind of formula that can be used to cast spells.

"Maybe like voodoo using something of the person you are trying to hold or some rope plus a formula circle may be able to cast 'Hold Person' like he did."

I mumble out to myself as I notice that I gained 5 EXP to my skill as well as now being able to see something other than normal vision. It was weird, there was something connected to everyone, but separate like everyone is able to tap into this energy. I smile as I begin to take a deep breath and start to try to focus on the energy starting to give myself a headache but also level up my skill 'Magic Theory'.

"Maybe I can try to directly access 'Magic Theory' while using 'Blurry Accuracy' to directly see this energy, it seems directly connected to magic itself as it caused a large jump in EXP to my skill."

I say mumbling to myself as I start to have issues with my uncle becoming more and more irritated with me due to simply living my own life and doing what I can where I can even if it is only through helping pay for bills.

"Hey, get your ass out here and help us, and show that you're grateful to be living here."

I sigh and go out to work with the concrete, helping to lay it down because the digging has finally been done as I was at work, or playing games the night before. Upon starting to move the concrete I got an old message,

'Working with your body will increase your 'Strength' stat but without continuing to work, your body will lose the muscle quickly.'

I sigh and keep going, once again gaining a minor increase to my 'Strength' stat for the time, feeling like I will go back down to 4 fairly quickly once again as what had happened quite a few times in the past, and part of the reason I hate physical work, my body simply does not keep muscle mass well.
