“You’re weird today.” Jake said as we drove home in silence. Anywhere I went, I could feel Blake watching me.
“I’m fine.” I said quickly.
“Ok, if you say so.” Jake pulled into the driveway and I jumped out of the car. “I have to go help dad. We’ll be staying for the party after. I think mom is skipping it too.” Jake said and I nodded.
“Ok, have fun.” I joked and Jake laughed. I walked to the door and was surprised to see it locked. I grabbed the hide a key and opened it. I pulled out my phone and saw a message from Amy that she was grocery shopping. I put my stuff away and went into the kitchen to make a snack. I grabbed a small bag of chips and made my way to the living room. I grabbed the remote as I scrolled my social media. I suddenly heard the door and assumed it was Amy or Jake. I set the remote down when I felt it. I slowly stood as Blake appeared in the doorway.
“Why are you here!?” I was shocked.
“I came to see you.” He said walking closer.
“Don’t you think you should’ve asked before you came over or knocked on my f*cking door!?” I said as he got in front of me.
“I haven’t knocked on your door since I was like five.” Blake’s statement was true. He hadn’t knocked on our door ever. It was never a problem in the past.
“Don’t…” I slapped his hands. “Don’t you think circumstances have changed!?” I said taking steps back.
“Of course, that’s why I’m here.” Blake’s face curled into an evil looking smile.
“My mom is going to be home soon! Aren’t you supposed to be at the pack house!?” I stumbled over our ottoman and Blake grabbed my arm. He pulled me into him. Here I was struggling again against his strong arms.
“Well, we’ll be quick.” He whispered and a shiver went down my spine.
“We’ll be nothing!” I said as I pushed on him.
“Did you always smell this good?” I could hear Blake taking in deep breaths with his head buried in my neck.
“Oh goddess, can you not? Please?” I was too small to fight him. His lips caressed my neck and I got mad. A growl escaped me and I gripped onto his arms. Blake started to laugh against my neck. It was clear he enjoyed this. He enjoyed making me feel uncomfortable and resisting his touch. He looked at me and grabbed my chin. He put his lips to mine. Sparks exploded from his kiss. He dropped his hand and I moved my face as he kept trying to kiss me again. I heard the door and Blake dropped me yet again. I fell to the ottoman. I felt dazed, not really sure what to do.
“Kelsi! I got some pizza and a movie for tonight.” Amy walked in and stopped when she saw Blake standing there. “Blake? Isn’t Jake at the pack house?” Amy looked at both of us.
“He hadn’t shown up and so I came to find him. Do you need help with your groceries Mrs. Charles?” Blake could lie so quickly and seem so believable.
“No, it’s only this bag. Kelsi?” Amy looked around Blake.
“What movie did you get?” I said, trying to pretend nothing was wrong.
“A romantic comedy.” She said suspiciously.
“Good.” I said and slowly started nodding.
“Ok what’s going on?” Amy put her hand on her hip.
“I’m not sure. I thought she was acting weird when I came closer. I think she’s not feeling well.” Blake looked from Amy to me.
“Right.” Amy said as she walked away.
“You’re not coming to my birthday party?” Blake turned to me and whispered.
“Your dad specifically asked me not to come.” I said glaring at him. Blake scoffed and put his hands on his hips.
“Can’t believe my own girlfriend isn’t going to celebrate with me.” Blake said, shaking his head.
“I’m not your girlfriend!” I jumped up and angrily whispered at him.
“Ha!” He said as he walked towards the door. “See you later Ella.” Blake did a half wave and I listened for the door to shut. I sat back down and Amy reappeared.
“So, what was that about?” Amy asked.
“Blake was being a jerk, like always.” I said, crossing my arms and sitting back.
“Sure.” She squinted and watched me for a moment. She walked over and felt my head. “Oh you do feel warm! Interesting.” She said, looking into my eyes. “I’m going to grab some medicine.” She turned and walked off.
After force feeding me some medicine, we watched our movie while eating the pizza. I had almost forgot about todays terrible events when Jake got home. The door opened and Jake appeared in the entrance to the living room. He just watched me and I stared back at him. Parker came in and walked past him. He gave Amy a quick kiss.
“How was it?” Amy asked as Parker walked to the chair and sat.
“Do you have something to tell us, Kelsi?” Jake said and Amy stared at Parker.
“Nope.” I said quickly.
“Kelsi.” Parker said. I stared at the everyone.
“Well, someone tell me.” Amy threw her hands up.
“Blake just nonchalantly told us and his dad that he found his mate.” Jake looked at Amy. Amy gasped and looked at me.
“That’s why he was here! Kelsi!” Amy’s face became angry.
“He was here!?” Parker looked at me.
“He was only here a few moments! Nothing happened.” I said, and Jake sighed.
“Why didn’t you say anything when we were at school? Or when we were in the car?” Jake asked. I silently sat there.
“Caleb wants Blake to reject her.” Parker said to Amy.
“Oh thank the goddess!” I felt relief. I opened my eyes and saw everyone’s eyes on me.
“You’re not over come by the mate bond?” Amy asked.
“I could care less.” I stood and started to walk.
“I don’t understand. You’re not suddenly crazy in love with him? Can you feel the bond?” Jake asked as he grabbed my shoulder.
“Yes, I can feel the bond. No, I’m not crazy in love with him.” I said looking around the room.
“Kelsi this is a big deal.” Parker said.
“Why? I thought you said Alpha instructed a rejection?” I looked around the room.
“If they do bond. This will be good standing for the family!” Amy said, I scoffed and walked away.
