I woke up and looked around. I quickly pushed myself up when I noticed I was using Blake as a pillow. I looked around when the door opened.
“See Beta, there’s your daughter.” Alpha Caleb said as Blake woke up.
“Kelsi! Are you kidding?! We’ve been messaging you all morning!” Parker came in and crossed his arms.
“I’m sorry.” Were the only words coming to my mind.
“Nope, it’s time to go. NOW.” Parker and Caleb stood there and I didn’t move. “Kelsi!” Parker said again and I looked at Blake.
“Give her a moment?” He asked and Parker looked confused. Blake got out of bed and grabbed my pants off the floor. I grabbed them and heard the door shut.
“You should’ve taken me home.” I said as I put my pants on.
“What if something had happened? Like you throw up while you’re asleep. You could choke.” He said and I sighed.
“My dad isn’t going to care. In fact, he’s going to be more mad.” I said, grabbing Jessica’s coat. Blake sat back on his bed.
“Who cares anyways? You’re my mate.” Blake said and I got to the door.
“Obviously my dad still cares.” I said as I opened the door and ran down the stairs. My dad was by the front doors with Alpha Caleb. He looked at me with almost disgust on his face.
“Thank you for helping me find her.” Parker said.
“I heard a rumor from the staff that Blake had brought home a girl. I didn’t know it was your girl or I would’ve called you last night.” Caleb said as I hung my head.
“It’s ok, we’ll sort this out at home.” Parker said as he opened the doors. I followed him to the car and once inside, Parker started.
“I don’t know what you’re thinking lately.” Parker started the car and drove off quickly.
“Nothing happened. Jake saw us leave, Jessica had accidentally given me something to drink.” I said and Parker interrupted me.
“What!? Jake was told not to let that happen. He also didn’t come home, but at least sent us a message of where he was!” Parker turned down our street.
“Nothing happened! He was only making sure I was safe through the night.” I said and Parker scoffed as he pulled into the drive.
“He sure didn’t make sure you kept your pants on!” Parker got out of the car and I followed into the house. Once inside Amy ran up and hugged me.
“Thank goodness! I was so worried.” Amy said, squeezing me tight.
“She was at the pack house. With Blake actually.” Parker said and Amy let go of me.
“Kelsi! You said you both weren’t… expressing love.” Amy whispered and Parker sighed.
“We aren’t! We haven’t!” I said looking between them.
“You don’t like him? Do you like him? I don’t understand.” Parker asked.
“I don’t know! The bond is making it difficult.” I said as their expressions turned to shock.
“Are you saying you don’t want him to reject you?” Amy asked.
“No, that's not what I’m saying.” I sighed as the door opened.
“What’s going on?” I could hear Jake’s voice as he removed his shoes.
“You were supposed to be watching her!” Parker went right into it.
“What are you talking about? Blake said he was taking her home.” Jake said, completely confused.
“What about drinking? You said you would make sure she didn’t.” Parker asked.
“You told them!? This is why she shouldn’t have gone!” Jake said.
“Stop! The truth is we’re disappointed in both of you.” Parker said.
“That’s not fair! I left her in Blake’s capable hands!” Jake said.
“In his hands while she was drunk and vulnerable?” Amy asked as Jake’s face became shocked.
“Did he take advantage of you!?” Jake grabbed my shoulder.
“NO!” I yelled.
“That doesn’t explain the pants!” Parker yelled.
“Oh my, ugh! They were tight and I couldn’t sleep with them on! He didn’t even try to kiss me!” I said as I went up the stairs.
“This conversation isn’t over!” Parker yelled after me.
Most of Saturday was spent in my room reading and a bittersweet moment of finishing my book. I sighed and grabbed my phone. I didn’t realize I had put it on silent. I saw an apology from Blake for getting me in trouble. I didn’t reply and went to the shelf. I put my book with my other finished books. I looked at what I had that was unread. My door opened and I turned. Amy poked in with a tray of cookies. Her ultimate smooth over tactic.
“Hey.” She smiled as she walked in.
“Hey.” I said and looked back to my books.
“I just wanted to chat.” She said lightly.
“Ok.” I turned and walked to the bed. Amy sat beside me and offered me the plate. I took a cookie off and she set the plate down.
“I know you’re a good girl Kelsi. I believe you nothing happened.” Amy began.
“But?” I asked.
“But we feel you growing the bond between you both isn’t the best. Especially if you’re still hoping for rejection.” Amy said.
“I understand.” I said.
“I’m not sure you do. Your birthday is soon. Very soon. I think Alpha Caleb is going to be watching to see if the bond stands.” Amy said and I sighed.
“I don’t want to talk about this anymore. At this point, we’re all just repeating ourselves.” I placed the cookie back on the plate.
“Kelsi.” Amy sighed. “We also need to talk about being safe.” She said and I looked at her.
“I’m always safe.” I was slightly confused.
“No, about being safe when, you know.” Amy was never good with uncomfortable conversation.
“Mom, I told you. We didn’t and haven’t.” I got up and went to my bookshelf.
“What if that changes?” Amy asked.
“I don’t see how or why it would.” I pulled a book off the shelf.
“Anything is possible. A couple weeks ago, you couldn’t stand being in the same room with him. Now Jake is finding you guys making out places.” She stood up and walked to me.
“That was one time!” I said angrily.
“I just hope you’ll think about being safe in the moment.” Amy slowly rubbed my back.
“Ok, I promise if it ever gets that far, which I doubt. We’ll be safe.” I shook my head.
“Thank you.” Amy gave my forehead a quick kiss and I watched as she left. I sat on the bed with my new book. I started to wonder what Blake was even up to and if his family was this weird over everything. I grabbed my phone and looked at it. One unread message from Blake.
“I miss you.” It read and I smiled.
