Chapter 27All at sea
Captain George Gideon, whom Ross thought the most patient man he'd ever met, greeted him and his search team warmly. Gideon and his First Officer, Patrick Neary, together with the rest of the crew of the Alexandra Rose, had cooperated fully with the police investigation, even voluntarily remaining on board in an effort to maintain the appearance to the outside world that the ship was quarantined pending medical clearance by the local health authority.
“It's good to see you again, Inspector,” Gideon said as he shook hands with Ross, Ferris, and Curtis. “Not got your beautiful lady sidekick with you today I see?”
“I'm afraid she's at the Royal,” Ross replied gravely, referring to the Royal University Hospital. “One of my officers was shot while off duty this morning,
