Chapter 21Baker's Dozen Andy Ross had only just sat down opposite D.C.I. Oscar Agostini when the D.C.I. was informed in a telephone call that Doctor Lauren Baker had arrived and was asking to see him or D.I. Ross. Agostini thought it to be perfect timing and a minute later, the tropical diseases specialist was shown into Agostini's office by a young uniformed constable. “Thank you, Constable,” Agostini said as the young man closed the door after showing the doctor into the office. After exchanging greetings, Ross gave up the comfortable visitor's chair to Baker and stood behind Agostini so he and the D.C.I. could both talk face-to-face with her.
