Chapter 3 : Humiliated

Collette's POV

I finally woke up the next morning after crying myself to sleep last night over the fact that Nate was rude to me .

I picked up my phone from the nightstand to see if I had any missed calls or messages from him , but there was none .

There was a notification from t****k , I was tagged in a video . That was unusual because I never posted on t****k or got notifications from the app .

I opened it to see that I was tagged by Carla in a video .

It was about Nate and Nova . What were they doing together in the class alone ? Was that why Nate didn't bother apologizing to me ?

I waited as the video loaded , and when it finally did , I watched to it .

" First question , rate me on a scale of one to ten ", Nate said . Was he flirting with my best friend ? The whole situation didn't make any sense to me .

" I can't do that because you're too cute you broke my scale ", Nova responded . Her response really shocked me . I knew she had a huge crush on Nate in middle school before she started dating that fool , but it was wrong for her to flirt with him back even though she knew we were dating .

" My turn , Why are you dating Collette ". Nova asked . Wait why would she ask such a question ?

" Because ..... Well Collette's smart , and she helps me with school stuff , also because being with her had helped my grades , lastly the free kisses that come from the relationship since she's too scared to go further ". Nate responded . I didn't know when tears welled up in my eyes . That was so bad of him to say , he knew why I didn't want to take our relationship further , I wanted to find my mate first , because I didn't want to get touchy outside my mate .

" So you don't actually love her ? "

" Naaa , I don't do nerds , I'm more into cheerleaders ", Nate said with a wink . With that , hurt tears fell from my eyes , I couldn't believe he'd say that . He admitted to using me .

" My turn ! Ever had a boyfriend ? "

" Yeah , some jerk in middle school , but then we broke up cos bro was too insecure ". She eyerolled .

" Rate Collette ".

" She's a 5 , and that's me being generous , cos she's a bad kisser for the most part ". I couldn't take this anymore , and I threw the phone to the bed , till I heard what they had to say next .

" if I kiss you , what would you do ? " He asked with a mischievous smile . She flushed red , looking down , probably nervous . On hearing that question , I picked up the phone again and continued watching , but then I regretted even watching .

" I don't know ", she said and he held her chin and tilted her face , then he placed my lips on hers kissing her slowly at first , nibbling at her bottom lip , then she finally gave him entrance , their tongues touching . She moved and was now sitting on his legs , straddling him . Her fingers tangled in his hair . They soon broke the kiss panting for air .

I couldn't stop myself from crying . My boyfriend kissed my best friend after saying stuff about me . What did I even do to deserve such ?

I felt the urge to see what people had to say in my defense in the comments , so I picked up my phone and I went to the comments session .

' lol Collette got what she deserved , how could she think she'd get Nate ? '

' lmao , I'm sure Nova is a better kisser '

' bruh what happened after the kiss '

" Nova ! ", I heard my mom call out to me from downstairs , but I didn't respond , I couldn't say anything , I didn't feel like talking to anyone now , I hated myself for being foolish , for falling hard for Nate , I was just a bug fool .

I ran into the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind me . I got into the shower and turned it on , letting it pour on me . I fell to the floor , holding my knee close to my chest as my clothes began to stick to my body .

" Nova ", I heard my mom call out again , as she opened my room door.

" I'm in the shower mom ", I said , trying my best not to sound teary .

As I walked to school , the video replayed in my head . Well you might be thinking , did you really have to go to school ? Well yes ! I really needed to . I mean I couldn't just stay at home by myself , firstly my mom would be suspicious and ask me tons of questions and I didn't want to talk about all of this , and secondly staying at home would make me think of him even more , and that would mean hurting myself even more .

Chills ran down my spine as I walked into the school gate . There were lots of whispers upon my entrance . The video did blow up .

' is she the Collette ? ' I heard some say , and I couldn't help but bow my head as I walked past , holding my books tightly .

My slow steps soon turned into quick paced ones , and then into a run . Anything to avoid this people .

As I ran , someone bumped into me , and my books fell .

" Sorry ", the person said and bent to pick them up for me . The face was really unfamiliar , it was as if he was new . He had short curly red hair and emerald green eyes . His aura was intimidating .

I heard whispers as I stood with this stranger , so I quickly took my book and ran into my class .

I went to the back seat today , to avoid unnecessary attention , and also my backstabbers . The bell went off , and the principal walked in with four boys . One happened to be the guy who bumped into me at the hallway .

" Good morning class ", Principal Brooklyn greeted , and we responded in unison .

" Meet Chester ", she said pointing to the first guy . He had dark brown hair and light brown eyes .

" Nick ", she said pointing to the second , and I could swear I had seen him somewhere . He was the smallest of the guys , being thin and not as tall as the other giants . He had blonde hair and dark blue eyes .

" Will ", she said pointing to the cutest guy I had ever met . He was really cute , even cuter than Nate . Well I couldn't care less , I was a wounded lioness and I didn't care about boys at this point .

" And Aiden ", she said pointing to the guy that had bumped into me earlier . His eyes scanned the class as if searching for someone , and our eyes met , but I looked away . Maybe he had heard the news too .

" You four can go get sitted . Aiden and Chester , please be behaved ", the principal warned .

" Nova , where's Collette ? " The principal asked , probably because I wasn't sitting next to her as usual .

" I'm here ma'am ", I responded and all eyes moved to me . I felt like entering the ground . And the whispering began all over again .

The four boys moved around searching for seats , but Will was left standing .

" Will the seat next to Collette is empty ", the principal said and Will walked over and sat next to me . All the girls in the class turned to stare . At least I wasn't the only one who thought he was cute . Nate's eyes met mine and it felt like he was really sorry about what he had said . I looked away immediately .

The principal left our class and the whispering increased , the class was now noisy .

" Nova , why didn't you teach your friend how to kiss ", Wennie , one of the cheerleaders remarked , looking back at me to see if I was mad yet .

" I think her friend is just a cheap slut , I wonder who she'd prey onto next ", Ashley said , and I couldn't take it anymore .

I got up and ran out from the class , I went to the washroom . I placed my hands on both sides of the sink outside it , holding it tightly till my knuckles turned white , and tears rolled down my eyes .

What a great way for Nate to pay me for loving him .

Someone walked in and I turned to see Nate .

" Colette I can - ", I cut him off

" Just shut the f**k up and get away from me ", I yelled .

" It's not what you think , I wasn't myself when I said all that , yes I didn't actually love you , but I'd never huniliate you ".

" I don't care Nate ! Did you hear what she called me , she called me a f*****g slut , do you know what your insensitive words have caused me ? " I asked annoyed .

" Babe , I'm - ", I cut him off again .

" Don't you f*****g call me babe , or imma cut your tongue off ".

" Thank you so much Nate , I appreciate the humiliation , but from today onwards , we are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend and I feel nothing for you ", I said in tears , and I walked out .
