THE CROWN OF DEATH Chapter One: Blood Rules the City Rain drowned the streets of Ravenna City in silver darkness. Neon lights flickered across pools of blood while sirens screamed somewhere in the distance. Men ran through alleyways carrying rifles beneath black trench coats. Clubs stayed open until dawn. Corrupt politicians laughed inside penthouses while bodies floated through the harbor by morning. Ravenna belonged to kings. Not presidents. Not the police. Kings of crime. And the most feared of them all was Dante De Luca. He stood on the balcony of De Luca Tower, staring over the city like a god born from violence. A cigarette burned between his fingers while thunder rolled behind him. At twenty-eight, Dante ruled half the underworld. Guns. Casinos. Drugs. Arms deals. Every criminal operation in the western districts answered to him. Men kissed his ring or died begging for mercy. But tonight, Dante’s empire was bleeding. “The shipment’s gone,” Luca said carefully from behind him. Dante remained silent. “Twenty million in weapons burned at the docks.” Still silence. “And…” Luca swallowed nervously. “The attack carried the Moretti crest.” That made Dante turn. Slowly. Dangerously. His black suit hung perfectly against his broad shoulders. Cold gray eyes locked onto Luca with terrifying calm. “Adrian Moretti,” Dante said softly. The rival king. The only man powerful enough to challenge the De Luca empire. For ten years the two mafia families had ruled Ravenna through war. Streets burned every month. Bodies appeared in nightclubs. Assassinations happened in daylight. The city lived in fear of both kings. And neither man planned to surrender. Dante crushed the cigarette beneath his shoe. “Prepare the convoy.” Luca hesitated. “Boss, this could start another massacre.” Dante smiled darkly. “Good.” Across Ravenna City, inside a luxury hotel dripping with gold and crystal chandeliers, Adrian Moretti poured whiskey into a glass. Unlike Dante, Adrian ruled with elegance instead of brutality. He wore expensive suits, spoke calmly, and smiled before killing people. Which somehow made him more frightening. “The docks are destroyed,” his advisor Matteo reported. Adrian nodded once. “And Dante?” “He’s coming.” A faint grin appeared on Adrian’s face. “Finally.” The rivalry between Dante and Adrian had become legendary. Newspapers called them devils in designer suits. Politicians secretly feared them more than foreign armies. But nobody knew the real reason for the hatred. Years ago, Dante’s father murdered Adrian’s older brother during a peace negotiation. Since then, revenge ruled everything. Adrian picked up his gun calmly. “Tonight ends this war.” Meanwhile, somewhere neither king expected, a woman stepped off a motorcycle beneath the rain. Valentina Russo removed her helmet slowly. Dark hair spilled over her shoulders while cold green eyes studied the city skyline. She hated Ravenna. Hated the mafia. Hated the kings who destroyed lives while pretending to rule with honor. But after five years away, she had finally returned. And the moment she walked back into Ravenna City… Death followed her. At midnight the harbor exploded into chaos. Bullets ripped through shipping containers while black SUVs crashed across wet pavement. Men screamed orders in Italian. Smoke swallowed the docks beneath flashing lights. Dante walked directly into the gunfire. No fear. No hesitation. Only rage. “MORETTI!” he roared. Adrian emerged from the opposite side surrounded by armed guards. Rain poured between them. Two kings. Two monsters. “You burned my shipment,” Dante growled. Adrian sipped whiskey from a crystal flask. “You burned my casino last month. We all make sacrifices.” Dante raised his pistol instantly. Adrian’s men aimed rifles. So did Dante’s soldiers. One movement away from war. Then— BOOM. An explosion ripped through the docks. Fire consumed three cargo containers instantly. Everyone turned. Snipers. Gunshots cracked from rooftops above. Dante’s men dropped one by one. Adrian cursed as bullets shattered nearby vehicles. “This isn’t my attack!” Adrian shouted. Dante grabbed cover behind a container as more bullets rained down. For the first time in years… Both kings were targets. “Move!” Dante barked. Adrian rolled beside him as another sniper round destroyed steel inches from their heads. The rivals stared at each other in disbelief. “You?” Adrian asked. “Not me.” Another explosion rocked the harbor. Suddenly motorcycles stormed through the smoke. Masked assassins. Dozens of them. Automatic weapons lit the night like lightning. Dante and Adrian fought back immediately, side by side despite years of hatred. Bullets tore through enemies while fire climbed toward the sky. Neither trusted the other. But survival came first. An assassin rushed Dante with a knife. Before Dante could react— BANG. The attacker collapsed. Dante looked up sharply. A woman stood atop a burning container holding a sniper rifle. Valentina Russo. Rain soaked her black leather jacket while smoke curled around her like shadows. Adrian’s expression darkened instantly. “You.” Valentina jumped down gracefully. “You boys look terrible together.” Dante narrowed his eyes. “You know her?” Adrian’s jaw tightened. “She’s the reason this war started.” Silence. Even the gunfire seemed distant for one dangerous second. Valentina smirked bitterly. “Still blaming me for your broken empire?” Before anyone answered, more assassins flooded the harbor. This time with rocket launchers. “Oh hell,” Adrian muttered. The rocket hit nearby trucks. Fire exploded across the docks. Dante grabbed Valentina before debris crushed her while Adrian fired toward the attackers relentlessly. Chaos swallowed Ravenna Harbor completely. But through the violence, one truth became clear: Someone powerful wanted both mafia kings dead. And Valentina Russo had returned for a reason. By dawn, Ravenna City would drown in blood. Again. --- Chapter Two: Enemies Beneath the Same Roof The abandoned cathedral smelled like dust, smoke, and old death. Dante slammed the heavy doors shut behind them while Adrian checked the windows carefully. Outside, rain still hammered Ravenna City. Valentina stood near the altar gripping her rifle tightly. Neither mafia king trusted her. And she trusted them even less. “This place is yours?” Adrian asked. Dante shrugged. “Used it during the war in Naples.” “Comforting.” Dante ignored him and turned toward Valentina. “Start talking.” She crossed her arms. “You always skip introductions.” “You disappeared for five years,” Dante snapped. “Then suddenly return during an assassination attempt.” Adrian stepped closer slowly. “You owe us answers.” Valentina laughed coldly. “No. You owe me a city.” Silence filled the cathedral. Then Dante realized something terrifying. “You know who attacked us.” Valentina’s eyes darkened. “There’s a new syndicate moving into Europe. They call themselves The Black Crown.” Even Adrian’s calm expression faded slightly. The Black Crown. Rumors of them existed everywhere. Governments feared them. Cartels worked for them. Entire mafia families vanished overnight after refusing loyalty. “They’re here now,” Valentina continued. “And they want Ravenna.” Dante loaded fresh bullets into his pistol. “Then they’ll die trying.” Valentina looked directly at him. “That confidence is why people around you keep dying.” For the first time in years… Dante had no response. And somewhere outside the cathedral… The Crown of Death had already begun hunting them.
