Cloud Mountain - Chapter 2

After leaving a message, Elsa climbed up the high wall by the bare trunk of an old tree that had been trimmed. She stepped on the ladder provided by Rob and quietly left the packhouse without alerting anyone.

Seeing Rob carrying a branch of flowers on the way, Elsa's mouth twitched. Seeing Cathy humming a tune with a carefree look, she finally spoke up, "My Lady, what expression do you think Prince Alex will have when he sees the flower you had Rob deliver?"

Rob wandered outside the pack for three days. He could see that the branch of flowers had dried up, with only a few scattered dry flowers left. It was at this moment that he realized the thing Cathy gave him was not easy to preserve and had an expiration date. Seeing that there was only one dry twig left, he became truly anxious and decided to wait at the gate of the palace.

He waited for a whole day until the sun set, and finally, a patrol in black armor appeared.

Without hesitation, he immediately stopped them and shouted, "By order of my Lady, I have brought a gift for His Highness Alex!"

As soon as he shouted in his hoarse voice, everyone on the road heard him.

The guards of the palace were startled, they quickly approached, taking wolf form and raising their claws to Rob's neck. They angrily asked, "Who are you?"

Rob was frightened, his body trembling. He felt the icy cold against his neck, knowing that a blink of an eye could end his life. Summoning his courage, he stammered, "Prince Alex... I am here to deliver a gift to Prince Alex."

The guards had already heard clearly earlier, but now they looked at him with suspicion.

At this moment, from the back of the line came a tall young man. He removed his mask to reveal an angular face with clear features. His voice carried a hint of coolness as he looked at Rob and asked, "Are you the person sent by Cathy? Cathy from the Moon Lake pack?"

Looking at the man with such an elegant grace, Rob was momentarily stunned.

His face was blank, but his heart was ecstatic. He finally saw Prince Alex.

The guards on both sides became angry when he didn't respond and shouted, "You see Prince Alex and don't answer!"

Alex raised an eyebrow, "Given to me by Cathy?"

Rob nodded again.

Alex looked at the dried-up branch for a moment, then said, "Bring it over."

Rob quickly got up to hand over the branch.

At this moment, a guard pressed his claw against his neck and sternly said, "Don't move. Give me the branch."

Rob could only obediently step back and handed the branch to the guard.

The guard took the withered branch, inspected it, and handed it to Alex.

Alex took the branch, examined it for a while, and asked Rob, "Besides asking you to bring the branch, did she send any other message?"

Rob nodded quickly, "She told me to give you the branch and also inform you that there's no need to send someone to pick her up. She will come by herself."

Alex played with the dried branch, and a few wilted flowers fell to the ground. He looked at them and suddenly smiled, "She is considerate."

Rob didn't understand the meaning of this sentence and looked at him.

Alex waved his hand, and in a gentle voice, he ordered, "Bring him back to the palace."
