From the sunny March in the Moon Lake pack, where flowers were in full bloom, to the earthly April in the Cloud Mountain pack, where the blossoms in the mountain were already falling, Cathy had not arrived.
Rob had been staying in the palace for a month, waiting until the flowers of spring were almost withered, but Cathy still hadn't come. He secretly wondered if Miss Cathy had run away halfway or if she was simply deceiving Alex and had no intention of coming to the Cloud Mountain pack.
He felt anxious and uncertain, thinking that if she didn't come and left him in the palace, although he had good food and good clothes, he was bound by rules and dared not move around freely. The entire palace was quiet every day, with servants busy with their own work, and no one spoke to him. He was almost suffocating from this solitude. He felt it would be better to be locked up in a cell in the Moon Lake pack, at least there would be someone to talk to.
Day after day, he longed for it more and more, yearning for the prison cell.
Longing for too long, he actually fell ill with lovesickness.
This day, the butler of the palace, Roy, informed Alex that Beta Jackson's birthday was approaching and asked what gift Alex would send. Alex pondered for a moment and said, "No rush." Then, Roy reported another matter,, "The person who was sent by Lady Cathy to deliver a message has fallen ill."
Upon hearing this, Alex ordered, "Let the doctor take a look at him."
Roy quickly said, "He has already been checked."
Alex looked at Roy's troubled expression and raised an eyebrow, "What illness does he have? Can't the doctor diagnose it?"
Roy helplessly replied, "The doctor said he had lovesickness, and to solve it, the person who caused it must be present."
"Oh?" Alex looked at Roy, "Who is he lovesick for?"
Roy hesitated for a moment and said, "I asked him, and he said he wanted you to send him to the prison cell. He believes his illness will improve if he is sent to a prison cell."
Alex chuckled, "This is quite unusual. Is there anyone else who willingly seeks out a prison cell, gets sick from longing for it?"
Roy was also puzzled, "That's why I'm wondering too. I don't understand what's going on."
Alex asked, "How long has he been in the palace?"
Roy promptly answered, "I remember the day he came, it was the 2nd March, and now it's the 16th April. He has been here for a month and a half."
Alex nodded, "That's quite a long time."
Roy agreed, thinking about why Lady Cathy hadn't arrived yet. She had said she would come to the Cloud Mountain pack without Prince Alex to pick her up, but she still hadn't arrived. If the Prince had sent someone to fetch her, they could have made two round trips between Cloud Mountain and Moon Lake by now.
After considering it, Alex said, "Since he requested it, do as he said and send him to the prison of the pack."
Roy nodded, "I'll arrange for someone to take him there."
Alex waved his hand, "You personally take him there."
Roy was surprised, instantly realizing that it was easy to enter the prison of the pack, but difficult to come out. This man was the messenger sent by Lady Cathy. Although he appeared to be a simple-minded guy, they couldn't let him die. Otherwise, how would they explain it to Lady Cathy when she arrived? Roy quickly replied, "Ok, I will personally take him there."
Alex nodded.
Roy directed his attendants to carry Rob out of the room, helped him onto the carriage, packed all the luxurious bedding, and personally sent him from the palace to the prison of the pack.
Being the butler of the palace, Roy had a great reputation. When the warden of the prison heard the news, he hurriedly came out to greet them.
Roy nodded respectfully to the warden , and inquired, "Are there any vacant cells in the prison? Could you lend one to me?"
The warden quickly replied, "The pack has been peaceful lately, without any troublemakers. There are plenty of vacant cells in the prison." He then asked tentatively, "Has something happened in the palace? How long do you need to keep him detained?"
Roy shook his head and replied, "No one has caused trouble. It's just that he has fallen ill and wishes to stay in a prison cell. I have the authority from Prince Alex, who agreed to send him here. His name is Rob, a guest of the palace. I hope you can take good care of him during his stay in the prison and avoid any mishaps."
The warden was stunned. Someone actually longed for the prison cell?
Roy nodded and said, "Thank you for the help. The man is in the carriage."
Although the warden didn't understand the situation, since it was the butler of the palace following Alex's orders to personally deliver the person, he couldn't refuse. He asked in a low voice, "Butler Roy, how many days will this guest stay?"
Roy shook his head and replied, "It's hard to say. He will leave when he recovers from his illness."
The warden was surprised and asked, "Is he seriously ill?"
Roy sighed and said, "Exactly."
The warden quickly inquired, "Is it a severe illness? Is it contagious? Or is it a hidden ailment? I need to know the nature of the illness so that I can take good care of him on behalf of His Highness."
Roy remained silent for a moment and then whispered, "It's lovesickness."
The warden was once again astonished.
Roy had someone help Rob down from the carriage. He saw the prison cell and seemed very happy. He repeatedly thanked Roy and the warden, chuckling, "Thank you both, thank you. I just love being in a prison cell."
Roy and the warden exchanged puzzled looks, speechless.
The warden arranged a single room for Rob, but when Rob saw it, he shook his head immediately. "Sir, I don't want a separate cell. I want to be in the big cell with someone else." As he spoke, he drew a large arc with his hand.
"Well..." The warden looked at him. "The conditions in the big cell aren't good..."
Rob quickly said, "I'm not afraid."
Seeing this, Roy said to the warden, "Arrange it as he says."
The warden could only nod.
Nowadays, it's peaceful in the pack, and there are few criminals in the largest prison cell. But that was enough to make Rob happy. As soon as he entered, he happily greeted the people inside, completely changing his sickly state in the palace where he couldn't even get out of bed, becoming lively and energetic.
After arranging Rob, Roy said goodbye to the warden and returned to the palace.
After informing Alex about the arrangements made for Rob, Roy tentatively suggested, "Your Highness, Lady Cathy hasn't arrived after such a long time. Could there have been a problem on the way? Should we send someone to search for her along the route?"
Alex asked in response, "Has her residence been prepared properly?"
Roy quickly replied, "It was prepared two months ago and is cleaned everyday, just waiting for Lady Cathy to move in."
Alex glanced at the dried branch that Rob had given him that day and said, "In another three to five days, she will arrive. No need to search."
Roy looked at the withered branch and secretly wondered. He had never heard of giving dried flowers as a gift. Lady Cathy's actions were truly unconventional. It had been a month and a half already, would she really arrive in another three to five days?
Alex smiled and calmly explained, "She sent me a dried branch to let me know that when the flowers in the Cloud Mountain pack wither, I would see her as if seeing this dried branch. Now, the flowers will bloom for another three to five days. Willn't she come when the flowers are gone?"
Roy suddenly realized.
