Archer usually didn't pay much attention to Melanie, nor did he care for her gentle care, but he noticed her coldness now.
The contrast to her past demeanor was too stark.
He was surprised but just assumed she was sulking. He paid no mind to the anomaly.
He didn't even bother to ask why she was upset. He just said coldly, "Trista's enrollment is complete. You'll take her to school tomorrow morning."
Melanie replied, "Got it."
Archer said nothing else and turned to the walk-in closet to get clothes for a shower.
