Isaiah was stunned. "Then what was the 'personal reason' you mentioned?"
Camille didn't want to get into it. "Just some personal bad blood."
"But—"
"What is it?"
Isaiah realized he had completely misunderstood; his quitting had nothing to do with Camille.
He couldn't help but ask, "What kind of skills does Melanie have? I heard she hasn't finished her Ph.D. yet, is she—"
"She hasn't just not finished her Ph.D. She only has a bachelor's degree. She never even went to grad school."
"Wait, really?"
"Mhm." Camille's tone was very cold when she said this.
She hadn't expected Melanie to actually leave the Atkinson Group, and she certainly didn't expect Melanie to rely on connections to get another job instead of pursuing a higher degree.
