ARRIVING AT LUMINOS
They drove the rest of the way through town, then continued up 89A through the winding Oak Creek Canyon. Their surroundings were an explosion of intense colors. A deep cerulean sky, unfettered by city haze, contrasted with the rolling hills of the brick-red rock landscape punctuated with the deep green of the ponderosa pines, yucca, and prickly pear cactus.
Despite all of this, Shea felt on edge. Not only was Megan in deep trouble, she probably didn’t realize it. And there lay the rub.
