CHAPTER 13 Words Before leaving I show my mother on the little display of my Reflex the shots I’ve just taken. She looks at them slowly and she asks me to take a picture of her too with the rose bushes in the little tree-lined street as background. While she asks me that, she’s serious and I see a veil of sadness in her eyes but I don’t have the courage to ask her anything to avoid ruining that magic moment in that place that has always made me safe.
