Eliza, Dakota, their children, and the rest of the Moon pack left the next afternoon in a caravan of black SUVs. Metztli was caught off guard at the powerful emotion he felt in watching the line of black cars leave. Eliza had been a puddle of waterworks as she hugged him and Sam goodbye, swearing that she would be back to visit soon and slipping a cell phone in Metztli’s hand. She told him she had to have a way to keep in contact with him and even though he disliked technology, he simply nodded, taking the phone. They had only lived a few hours away from one another in the past, but now, being half a country away, he understood seeing or talking to each other was going to be harder. So, it wasn’t a surprise that as the line of cars drove off, he could feel his heart lurch in his chest. H
