Chapter 24 TOMMY The girls turned red and sweaty around dinner time. We took their temperature and all three were burning up at over one hundred and two degrees. The moms panicked and called in other members of the coven. They all hunched around the dining table, surrounded by books and herbs, spells, and crystals. There were witches and warlocks everywhere. I sat on the couch next to where Bella lay. “Do you think they’re gonna find the way out of this?” Jackson asked me from where he knelt on the floor, stroking Ruby’s face with a cool cloth. The storm hadn’t let up, and the rain was causing flooding in some of the houses around us.
