Chapter 16

The maid stood there after dropping the wine and glass waiting patiently for Adonis instructions before she made her next visit. But Adonis was busy with his files and didn't even know that the maid was still standing there waiting. After a while he raised his gaze from the files in his hand and gasped seeing the maid standing still there like she was being punished to remain standing. "What are you still doing there?" Adonis asked.

"I was actually waiting for your instructions Alpha." She replied.

"What instructions are you waiting for?" Adonis asked, finding it hard to believe her choice of excuse.

"I was actually waiting for you to order me to open the wine and pour it out into the glass for you." She replied.

"Oh that," Adonis said, realising she was right to wait.

"Yes Alpha." She bowed.

"Well about that, you don't need to, I will do it myself, you can go now." Adonis told her.

"Ok Alpha." She bowed, and started walking away.

Adonis sighed and watched her walk away before he dropped the files in his hand on the table. He grabbed the bottle of wine and opened it and also took up the glass and poured out some content into the glass and zipped it down his throat. He took a deep breath afterwards and poured more into the glass before covering back the bottle and dropping it back and he turned back to the files and quickly picked it up and resumed working on it again. He worked and slowly sip the wine in his glass.

Later that evening after he was finally done with all the work he had to do. He got up from his chair at the office but by then he had already drunk all the wine in the bottle so he needed a little fresh air. He had already planned his evening and he would be spending the whole night with Aurora in her room. He wasn't going to just go back to his room after getting intimate with her, knowing for sure that she has always wanted that so he would give it to her tonight. He walked out of the office and stopped by the path leading to the sitting room when he saw the maid that had brought him the wine early coming from the kitchen.

"Good evening Alpha." The maid greeted immediately when she saw him.

"Yes,go over to my office and take out the glass and also the empty bottle." He told her.

"Ok Alpha, I will do just that." She bowed, but Adonis had started walking away before she raised her head. She saw him already walking away and she turned around and started walking over to his office.

Adonis got out of his house and was just having a little walk around his pack when one of his guards ran up to him. He quickly turned over to him.

"Good evening Alpha." The guard greeted him.

"Good evening, what is the problem?" Adonis asked.

"It's actually nothing serious, Alpha." The guard replied.

"Ok but why are you here?" Adonis asked.

"Well actually Alpha I was actually thinking if you could consider rearranging your arms into different directions of the pack." He said,

"Why do you think that, aren't they good enough in the part they are currently in?" Adonis asked.

"It's not that Alpha, they are good enough there but." He said, and pulsed on his speech.

"But what should I do? Tell me." Adonis urged.

"Alpha the truth is, I think it isn't too right when all the arms are at a particular spot in the pack, if we want to get attacked we will never know because the people will always come in through the other parts that are not guarded." He said, and Adonis could see some sense in what he had just said.

"Hmm," Adonis exhaled. "I have heard what you said and I will give it a thought." Adonis told him.

"Ok Alpha, but for sure, I know that other packs are scared of us, but I think it's necessary to take precautions." He advised.

"Alright, I totally understand your point and I think I will act on it as soon as possible." Adonis assured him.

"Ok Alpha thank you so much, I really appreciate it." He said,

"It's Ok." Adonis replied.

"So Alpha, I guess you are heading somewhere right?" He asked.

"Not really, I was actually just taking a little work around the pack." Adonis replied.

"Ok Alpha, but do you mind if I walk with you for a while?" He asked him.

"No, I don't mind." Adonis said,

"Ok thanks Alpha, I really appreciate it." He smiled, and Adonis just nodded his head as they both started walking together.

A total silence followed as they both walked together side by side. Adonis never really took his time to make anyone his beta because he doesn't really see any reason to but looking at this man walking besides him he felt it was time for him to have a Beta. He saw loyalty in his eyes all through when he was talking to him and he had never seen that in any other person before in the pack. He would think of what to do about the man later on but not right now. His focus should just be on Aurora, he really needs to get her back as soon as possible.

They both walked together for a while before he finally stopped and he asked him what his name was. The guard gladly told Adonis his name and Adonis thanked him again for the advice and promised him he was going to act with his advice as soon as possible. The man was happy and he even thanked Adonis before he later left him and made his way back home. Adonis was actually sweaty when he arrived home because he had walked back hastily because he wanted to meet up for dinner in time. He didn't really mind the fact that he was sweaty so he just made his way straight to the dining room. But unfortunately Aurora was already done with dinner before he got there and he only met the cook there.

"Good evening Alpha." The cook greeted immediately, and she saw him.

"Yes good evening, where is Aurora?" He asked, still standing.

"She is already done and I guess she would probably be in her room now." The cook replied.

"Oh ok." He sighed.

"Alpha, please sit so I can also serve you yours." The cook said,

"No, not now, I will be right back." He replied and started walking out of the dining room.

He was actually sweaty and he didn't see any reason to sit down and eat when Aurora wasn't there. He has actually hurried there before because of her but since she wasn't there anymore, then there was no reason for him to stay back there. He needs to go and freshen up and look much better before he comes back to have his dinner and that was what he was going to do now. He walked into his room and went straight to his bathroom. He took off his clothes and got into his bathtub.

After a while he was finally out and he just quickly dried his body and got dressed. He really can't wait to spend the night with Aurora and he needed to have his dinner first before thinking of going over to her room. He sighed heavily and walked out of his room. The cook has been waiting patiently for him in the dining room but unknown to her that the food was already cold. She smiled immediately she saw him all dressed and was now there to have his dinner. She stood still and waited patiently for him to get into his seat before she would dish out his food. Adonis finally had his seat and the cook walked to the table and opened the food to dish him some food but she discovered that the food was already cold. She froze immediately and thought of what to do. Adonis, who had been waiting for her to serve him some food, got surprised when he noticed she wasn't doing that but rather she was just standing there.

"What is wrong? And why aren't you serving me?" Curious Adonis asked.

"I.. I'm sorry Alpha." She stuttered.

"What are you sorry about?" Adonis asked, confused , why she was apologising.

"Well actually I just discovered the food is already cold, please Alpha give me a few minutes let me quickly warm it up." She pleaded on her knees.

"It's fine, just go and do that immediately." Adonis said, and she quickly stood up and took up the food hurriedly and Left the dining room immediately.

Adonis wasn't really too pleased though but there was nothing he could do. He understood the fact that he was actually the cause of it, so he didn't see any need to be angry about it.
