Chapter 18

Aurora stood up from her chair after eating her food. She was about to leave but remembered she needed to talk to the cook and the cookies she gave to her the night before and to do that she had to wait until Adonis was also done eating and leaving. She turned around and saw Adonis eyes fixed on her and she quickly looked away and frowned. She didn't think she could stand his glance on her,so she was going to leave the dining room and return back later when she was sure that Adonis was no longer in the dining room. She quickly walked out of the dining room. She made her way straight to her room and shut the door behind her before proceeding to her bed. She sat down and took up the book she had kept in her nightstand drawer and started reading it to keep herself busy as she waited patiently for Adonis to leave the dining room.

Meanwhile Adonis was actually sad as he continued eating his food. He just couldn't wait for the night to come so he would make another attendance to settle things with her. He was going to get the gift that would be as a ticket for him to walk into Aurora's room that night. He tried to hurry up with his food so he could finally get out. He continued eating slowly as Aurora's thought kept flashing into his mind that he couldn't even eat comfortably again but he just tried his best to still manage to eat. Soon he was finally done eating and he quickly poured out some water into the glass in front of him and zipped it down his throat before standing up. And he started walking out of the dining area immediately. The cook watched him leave the dining room in a haste and wondered what was so urgent that he needed to attend to. She sighed heavily before she walked over to clear out the dining table.

Adonis walked out of his house as he set out to get the gift he had planned to give to Aurora. As he walked he thought of the best gift to give to her because he really wants her to love the gift he was going to present to her, so he needs to get nothing but the very best. He walked into a jewelry store and ordered a diamond necklace. The attendance quickly brought their best and most expensive diamond necklace to him. He checked them out for a while before he finally settled for one and asked the attendance to pack it up for him. She quickly took it from him and packed it up and he made payment before taking it for her and quickly leaving the store. He stared at the diamond necklace one more time and a smile formed in his lips. He felt satisfied with the beauty of the necklace and he was sure that she would definitely like it and she can't possibly resist it. So now he has gotten a good reason to show up on her room door later that evening. As he started walking away he also thought of getting her a dress that would fit into the necklace perfectly but decided to just let it bed that the necklace was quite enough for now. He sighed and started walking back home.

He was finally home after a while and he headed straight to his room without wasting much time. He had his seat on his bed and glanced at the necklace one more time before dropping it back in the pack the attendant had put it. He opened his drawer and put it in the pack before shutting it back. He relaxed back into his bed but just then he remembered the things he needed to do back in his office and breathed out before standing up. He hurried out of his room and made his way to his office. He actually wanted to finish up with the work he has on his table back in his office. He walked into his office and had his seat immediately and quickly took out the files he needed to work on and started walking on it immediately.

Aurora was still in her room, she got a little bit carried away by the book she was reading and didn't bother to return back to the dining room to talk to the cook and the cookies she had given to her the night she slept in the sitting room. She didn't even think of anything else as she buried her face on the book as she put in her whole heart into reading the emotional romance book. She finally read the last chapter of the book and smiled seeing the happy ending of the male and female lead of the story. Just then he might have gone over to the cook she had planned to meet and she turned her glance to the wall clock and gasped immediately, seeing that it was almost noon. She sighed and dropped the book in her nightstand drawer and got down from her bed as she made her way out of her bedroom. She rushed to the kitchen but found it empty. She knew immediately that the cook must have gone to her room but it would be best if she checked around for her, she told herself and started her search.

Aurora searched the dining room, and sitting room but there was no trace of the cook. So she decided to head out of the house to check around the compound too. Though she has never seen the cook outside the house before, maybe that day might just be her lucky day, so she decided to go ahead with the search. She continued searching but still didn't find her anywhere after searching for a while so she finally gave up and started walking back into the house when she saw Tania walk out of the house as well. She frowned immediately and looked around her. She saw some maid in the garden clearing out something and she tried to hide herself. She wasn't actually ready for Tania drama that morning so it was best if she hides so Tania wouldn't see her. But unfortunately she was so unlucky because Tania had already seen her before she could even think of hiding. Tania walked straight to her immediately she saw her and stopped right in front of her.

"Don't tell me you were about to hide yourself." Tania said, with a wild smirk on her face.

"Who are you talking about? Who is hiding?" Aurora asked, forming innocence as she glanced around.

"Who else but you coward." Tania cursed at her.

"I'm not a coward and mind you I wasn't hiding too." Aurora defended.

"If you weren't hiding then why did I catch you bending down here?" Tania asked.

"Oh that, I actually arranged my slippers properly if you may know." Aurora said,

"Liar, I saw what you were doing,so just stop trying to defend yourself because it's not going to work girl." Tania told her.

"I'm not a liar, and don't ever call me that again." Aurora warned.

"So what if I decide to call you a liar again what would you do?" Tania asked. But Aurora kept quiet not knowing what to say to her.

"You see, you can't really do anything,so I will just keep calling you a liar." Tania smiled.

"Look Tania, I'm just not in the mood for this your nonsense so just get out of my way." Aurora said,

"What if I don't leave the way, what do you intend to do then?" Tania asked. Aurora was starting to get frustrated with Tania's ways. She doesn't know what to do about her and actually she doesn't still want to fight her. She just remains quiet as she thinks of a way to escape from Tania. She regrets ever coming out there to search for the cook in the first place when she knows quite well that the cook doesn't come out of the house. She could just see someone that would help her out of Tania's mess. She knows for sure that Tania was going to create a scene shortly if she doesn't look for a way to escape from there as soon as possible.

"Hey workers please come and see your, little Luna, and she's scared of me and can't even stand for herself." Tania said, calling the attention of the maids who were working in the garden there.

They started laughing immediately hearing what Tania had said about me. "Wow, I want to see that so-called Luna." One of them said,

"Yes, me, too." Another added and she couldn't hear their footsteps walking towards her.

Aurora glanced at Tania and saw she wasn't looking in her direction but rather she was looking at the maids coming towards them. So that was her perfect chance to escape.
