Chapter 20

1505 Words
Adonis continued with his food and tried not to look at Aurora. Adonis was surprised to see that Aurora wasn't eating in a haste like she always does since they returned from the conference and sighed. Now he was super convinced that something was wrong. Though she didn't spare him a glance as usual, she was carefree and she didn't look like she wanted to reach out of the dining room like she always does. Adonis was finally done eating and he took up the glass of water beside him and zipped it down his throat and glanced at Aurora's food. She was just halfway with her meal which means she was still going to be in the dining room for a while. He thought of just talking to her since she was still there but he quickly pushed off the thought and stood up from his chair and was about to walk out of the dining room. But immediately he stood up and saw Aurora glanced at him for the first time. Their eyes met and Aurora quickly looked away. He walked a little closer to her and put his hand on the table in front of her, making her raise her head to meet his gaze. "Tell me,who is after you?" He asked. But she just stared at him without saying anything. "I just asked you a question, young lady." Adonis said, "No one is after me." She lied. "So what are you actually like there is someone you are running from here?" He asked. "I thought I just told you no one is after me?" She asked. "Ok then, if you say so." He said, "Yes, I said so." She replied, and he quickly withdrew his hand from the table and started walking away. Aurora sighed and shut her eyes after he had left and wondered how he had known that someone was after her, or was it obvious that she was scared? She thought and shook her head negatively before she finally continued with her food. After eating for a while she was finally done eating and she took her water too and zipped it down her throat before standing up to leave the dining room. But just then the cook walked over to clear out the dishes and she remembered the cookies that had put her into Tania trouble. But she would look for a way to get out of it soon. "Please can you bring me cookies like you brought to me that night?" Aurora asked. "Yes ma'am, I will bring it to your room right away once I'm done cleaning up the kitchen." The cook said, and Aurora was about to tell her to bring it later at night but decided not to. Besides, it would be good if she had those delicious cookies that afternoon and also had it later at night, she thought. "Ok, I will be waiting in my room." Aurora told her. "Ok ma'am," the cook bowed and Aurora quickly turned around and started walking out of the dining room. Aurora made her way to her room but she kept glancing around as she walked on until she finally got to her room. She flipped open her room door and got in and shut the door behind her. She wondered why Tania hadn't tried to attack her since morning because she knew Tania was really pained by what had happened that morning and she wasn't the kind of person that easily forgives. But until now she hasn't seen or heard anything from her and she couldn't help but wonder. Aurora slowly walked towards her bed and immediately she remembered she was finally done reading all the books she had taken from the library and that simply means she would be so bored if she didn't get another book from the library. She can really risk being bored because she knows what would be the next thing. And she doesn't want to even think about it for a moment or even a second. She finally made up her mind to go to the library. She doesn't care if Tania would see her in the process and do something bad to her. But no matter what Tania would do to her can't be worse than what her boredom would do so she would risk it. She told herself that took up all the books she had read and started walking out of her room. On her way to the library she also kept glancing around for Tania so she wouldn't take her unaware. But before she got to the door of the library she still didn't see any trace of Tania which made her happy. She opened the library door and walked into and headed straight to the spot she had taken the books in her hand and arranged them back into it before searching for other books that would catch her attention. But after a while she finally picked up three different books that caught her sight and walked out of the library. She proceeded back to her room but she was almost close to her room when she saw someone standing by her door and the mind flu immediately thinking it was actually Tania. She felt she was now in trouble because Tania won't spare her for anything but as she walked closer to the door. She discovered it wasn't Tania but the cook and her racing heart slowly started calming down immediately. "Ma'am there you are, I have been knocking your door for ages, I actually thought maybe you were already sleeping." The cook said, with a smile plastered on her face. "No I wasn't sleeping, I just went to the library to get some books." Aurora replied. "Ok, I can totally see that." She smiled ,before Aurora was closer to the door and opened it as she instructed the cook to also go into her room with her. They both walked into her room and she asked the cook to drop the food on the nightstand drawer which she did before they left just Aurora in the room. Aurora dropped her books on the bed and grabbed the fruit juice and glass and opened it before pouring out some for herself. She also picked up some cookies in her hand and took them into her mouth. She started chewing on it while drinking the fruit juice. "Oh my goodness this is really so amazing." She mouthed while she took more into her hand and continued eating it. She continued eating the cookies and also drinking from her glass of fruit juice and totally forgot about the book she had planned to read because she was really enjoying it. But after a while it was finally finished and she wished she could get more cookies too but it would be best if she waited until later at night then she would really enjoy it. She put the empty plate and fruit juice aside and climbed on her bed. She quickly took up one of the books and dropped the other on the nightstand drawer very close to the plate and empty fruit juice. She relaxed back on her bed as she started reading the book. Meanwhile Adonis was in his room and he has been there since he left the dining table. He has glanced at the diamond necklace he had bought for Aurora more than a million times. And he was still holding it in his hand. He just couldn't wait for night to come. He actually felt satisfied with the beauty of the necklace and he was sure that Aurora wouldn't be able to resist the beauty too and he wished he could just wear it on her once he gets there. He will make sure they both enjoy the night together because he has really missed her so much and he just can't wait to have her back in his hands again. He stared at the diamond necklace in his hand one more time and sighed and kissed it, before putting it back into the pack. He opened the drawer and put it in before closing it back. He rose on his feet and started walking out of his room. He was going to go to his office so he could look for something to get busy with before the night time that he was waiting for would come. He walked out of his room and first stopped by the bar and took a bottle of wine and a glass before he continued his walk to his office. He went into his office after a while and dropped the wine and glass on his table as he started checking out all the files in his table for the one he has worked on and the one that needs his attention. He searched several files but couldn't find any one that needed to be worked on and he frowned immediately knowing full well that he would be bored throughout the afternoon.
