Chapter 14

It was finally morning and the maids were already up and they were all prepared to start cleaning the house. They started their cleaning for the kitchen and went down to the passage and then to the sitting room. They gasped to see Aurora sleeping peacefully on a couch and stood still thinking of what to do. They also saw the empty plate and also the empty cans of fruit juice on the table and sighed as they kept asking themselves what to do with Aurora's sleeping figure when the cook walked into the sitting room too.

"Good morning to you all." The cook greeted them.

"Yes good morning." They said in unison.

"So what are you murmuring about?" The cook asked, seeing how they were murmuring between themselves before she walked in.

"Look over there." One of the maids said, pointing her finger to Aurora's sleeping figure. And the cook followed her finger and saw Aurora.

"Oh my goodness, I can't believe she slept here." The cook said, concerned and walked over to where she was.

"What do you think you are doing?" One of the maids asked.

"I'm waking her up as you can see." The cook replied and tapped Aurora softly on her laps.

Aurora breathed out and flipped open her eyes slowly. She saw the cook standing beside her and she quickly glanced around and realized she had slept off in the sitting room while watching the movie. "Good morning ma'am." The cook greeted her.

"Good morning." Aurora replied and slowly got up on feet. She gasped seeing all the maids standing there. She felt a little embarrassed. She quickly looked down and started walking out of the sitting room. While the cook took out the dish, glass and empty cans of the fruit juice away.

Aurora got to her room door and opened it before walking in. She shut the door behind her and rested her back against her door. She hit herself with her palms. She wished she had just remained in her room last night and that she was feeling restless but now she had ended up disgracing herself again before those bad maids who didn't even like her before because of what Tania had told them about her. And now she has added to the level of disrespect they would be giving to her. She sighed heavily and slowly started walking over to her bed. She sat on her bed for a while and picked up her cell phone from the nightstand drawer and opened the password and started checking out some things in it. She finally dropped her phone after a while and got up on his feet and started walking over to her restroom. She brushed her teeth for a while before walking out of the restroom. She proceeded to the bathroom and took off her clothes and mixed a warm soapy water into the bathtub before stepping in. She relaxed back into the soapy water and allowed it to warm her up.

She stayed in the bathtub for a while before getting up. She proceeded into her room with a towel tied around her chest. She quickly had her seat. Immediately she entered her room on the dresser and untied the towel from her body and started using it in drying her body. She took up a skin lotion and started applying it on her body after drying her body up. She stood up from her dresser after a while and went straight to her closet which she opened and started picking out something for herself. She came across the dress that Adonis had bought for her and she just stared at it for a while before finally taking some other dress to wear and shutting back the closet.

Meanwhile Adonis was in his room that morning when he thought of getting Aurora another gift. He was going to buy her new jewels and he hoped she would definitely like it. He was also dressed already and he was about heading out. Immediately he opened his room door and saw the cook standing there. She was actually about knocking on his door. She quickly greeted him and told him why she was there. Adonis had already known why she was there already and told her to lead the way. They both walked towards the dining room but the cook stopped remembering she had called Aurora.

"What happened? why did you stop all of a sudden?" Adonis asked.

"I'm sorry for stopping that way but I just remembered I have been called miss Aurora." The cook explained.

"Oh ok,go then just hurry up." Adonis told her, and she quickly bowed and turned around and started walking away in a hurry.

Adonis sighed and continued with his journey. He went into the dining room and had his seat as he waited for the cook and Aurora. After waiting for a while Aurora and the cook finally arrived in the dining room and Aurora had her seat a bit far away from him and the cook immediately dished out the food into the plate in front of them as they both started eating immediately. Adonis didn't want Aurora to leave him again in the dining room as she always does so he hurried up with his food and got up from his seat by then Aurora was still eating. He started walking out and Aurora raised her head and stared at him as he started walking away. She continued staring before he went out. Adonis had a plan to go out and get her the jewellery he had thought about that morning. He left the house immediately and went to get the jewellery. He bought a gold necklace, earrings and bracelet which was well packed. He hoped she liked it and would forgive him once she saw the jewellery. He went back home but by then the house was already so calm. Everyone has had their breakfast and we're now in their various rooms. He thought of going to give Aurora in her room but remembered how she actually acted the last time and decided not to. He was going to give it to her in the dining room and watch her facial expressions after seeing it he thought and slowly walked over to his room. He got to his room and went in and headed straight to the couch. He dropped the jewels on the table and sat tiredly on the couch. He was going to wait until noon before he presented the gift. He stood up after a while and went straight to the bar in the sitting room. He took a bottle of water and a glass and returned back into his room.

He settled on a couch and opened the wine and poured some content into his glass and started sipping it slowly as he continued sitting now. He grabbed his cellphone and returned back to the couch and started pressing the phone as he drank from the glass of wine in front of him. He just couldn't wait for noon to come, he really wanted to see Aurora's reaction after she saw the jewellery he had got. The lady that has sold the jewellery to him is actually him. The person he was buying them for was definitely going to love them because they were really beautiful and he hopes to see a little smile on Aurora's face after she has seen them. He was tired of her cold attitude towards him and he really wants a change as soon as possible. He could only hope he gets to see the changes that afternoon. He took up his glass of wine and zipped it down his throat before pouring in another wine from the bottle.

It was finally noon and he kept hoping that the cook would finally come and knock on his door. Meanwhile Aurora has been in his room all morning. She was actually reading some books she had gotten from the library and the books were really keeping her entertained in her room so that she didn't bother thinking of anything. She had found a little distraction from her thoughts and that was books and she was really happy about that. Because she doesn't know what she would have done to herself by now with the guilt she was actually feeling until now from the past incident. She hoped the thought would finally go away someday and it should be soon because she can't keep reading like that always. After a while the cook came to call her for lunch and she dropped off the book she was reading in her bed and went off with the cook immediately. They both walked side by side to the dining room as they talked about some random things while Aurora smiled at the cook as they both talked but he smiled and died down immediately she saw Adonis in the dining room. She returned to her usual cold self without a smile and just walked over to a chair, pulled it out and sat down.
