Chapter 9When I opened my eyes, I expected the bedroom to be full of natural light. The last few mornings had been bright with sunshine. My mind was fuzzy, but I had a vague sense of uneasiness. The alarm clock said it was morning, but why was it so dark outside? The bed was empty next to me. Eduardo must be in the bathroom, I thought groggily. We must have had too much to drink because my head is killing me. I begrudgingly got out of bed and pulled the curtains open. It was daytime alright, but the sun was nowhere to be found. Instead, the sky was overcast, and a steady, quiet rain fell from dark clouds.
