Chapter 10After showering and getting dressed, I spent the rest of the day in the resort lobby, watching the entrance and hoping Eduardo would emerge from the rain and our terrible separation would come to an end. I periodically called him, but it always went to voicemail.
“It’s me again,” I said into my phone. “I’m really worried, and I’m trying not to freak out, but please, please call me as soon as you get this, so I know you’re alright.” My throat constricted as I said goodbye, and I felt my voice faltering. “I love you, Eduardo.”
