Chapter 4

The attack Damien woke up to the sound of his ringing tone "lead me on" He turned to the other side of the bed, searching for the phone with one hand. He groaned when he found it, wondering who was calling that early. "Hello" he spoke to the caller without checking to see who the caller was. "Master, the client for Pearl's estate, laid a complaint about the building and asked for a refund as soon as possible" Pete, his PA informed him. He felt bad for calling his boss this late but couldn't keep it for later too because Damien wouldn't like that. "What? How come? I personally checked the building by myself and there's nothing wrong with it. So where is this faulty complaint coming from?" Damien said eyes wide opened in surprise. "I heard from the managing department that Xander was the one behind this, he informed our client that both the land and building has been sold out to another person" Pete explained. "Arrgh, that son of a b***h. Why is he always on my neck? I'm not even related to him in any way. Don't worry I will take care of it" Damien assured Pete. "Alright sir, sorry to disturb your sleep" Pete apologized before he hung up. Why is Xander always bent on frustrating and making things hard for him, Damien thought. Now that Zico is dead, he would deal with the guy mercilessly that not even his father will be able to save him. He checked the time and it was thirty minutes past two. He climbed down from the bed and headed towards his study room. He will deal with Xander later but first he has to convince the buyers that they have nothing to fear. The building and land worth $6000 and refunding won't be convenient for that company at the moment. He and Xander had come a long way, they were best of friends before the enmity between them started. The reason for this fight is what Daemon does not understand, he had tried asking him over and over again in the past but it yielded no result. As he walked through the passage, Ariel light caught his attention. It's midnight and she hasn't lit up. This young lady definitely doesn't know how to follow rules. He walked towards her room and was surprised to find the door slightly opened. He glanced through the small opening and saw that the bed was empty. He walked into the room and searched all over for her, he thought maybe he was in the kitchen to get water. He went there and found nothing, he searched all the empty rooms and Jayden's room too. Nowhere in sight. He felt hai breath caught up in his throat, where could she be? The garden? He went outside and yet had no sight of her. What's going on? He walked towards the big gate to inquire from the bouncer. "Have any of you seen Ariel?" Damien asked frowning, which has become a habit ever since his boss died. "She drove out last night" Zino, one of them answered. "Drove out? And you all don't deem it fit to inform first before granting her access to the outside world" Damien said raising his voice slightly at them. "We thought she wanted to get something and would be back soon," Jack, his partner, responded. "Someone left home last night and she hasn't called to inform. Why did I employ you people if you don't know how to deliver your job well" "We are sorry sir" they both apologize "Sorry? Where in heaven's name do we want to start looking for her? Just pray we find her in one piece or else, I will make you regret the day you started working here" Damien threatened them. He walked away and made a phone call to his private detective. "Help me, find this person I will send to you, comb everywhere in search of her and bring her here once you do" he hung up the call after giving instructions to John, their family detective. Xander was laughing with a brown-haired girl, rocking body together in the exclusive club. He was so happy because everything was going as planned. His bait has caught a bigger one. The girl seems tense but also lively, he enjoys the combination of both. She feels right in his arms as they rock to the hip pop song coming out from the DJ. Lost in the moment, he wants to have her right there in the clubhouse but knew it was not gentlemanly of him. He promised to give her a ride back home so he could have her number. He was at the club to celebrate the success of his new deal. His success always comes from another man's misery. He knew his face will be out there by tomorrow morning, and the girl in his arms won't be spared from the publicity which makes it easier to find her anytime he needs her. This is going to be so much fun. Damien sat down on the couch, eyes closed, with different scenarios going on in his mind. Thoughts of what might have happened to Ariel, if she falls into the wrong hand. He was angry at the same time, he didn't know which feeling to put first. The fact that his Master child left the house without his consent or her safety. It is time to act on her rash behavior. He's been lenient with her enough. John called him earlier to inform him of his progress and then he found her. Damien can't describe the relief that washed through him the moment he heard that she's safe. Safe and enjoying herself. Nice combo. He waited for her to be brought home, when he saw her open the door. He looked at her from head to toe, then left for his room. Ariel was surprised at his attitude, she thought he would lash out on her but no. He just left. She didn't mean to stay out for a long time. She only wanted to shake off the feeling surrounding her, she wanted to feel better and accept the fact that her father is gone forever. That she has become an orphan.
